beat srt 4
Just beat a SRT 4 coming home from Extreme Auto Fest (Las Vegas). I am confused I thought those cars where crazy fast. He did have two other passengers though. Had no problem pulling away from him. Still his turbo sounded sick!
I got intake, headers, cat back, pulleys, spacers, and had my ecu done(noticed a big diference from ecu upgrade)

I sent in to Jet Performance. At first I was worried cause of bad feedback, but when I got my ecu back I was very pleased. They tune it to all mods you have already done to your car. I noticed it more than ur pulleys, but less than comptech headers.

they replaced the srt-4 with the caliber srt-4 which now makes 300HP from a 2.4L turbo 4. very fast car stock and for around 24k new. dodge is bringing the power:cost ratio to a new level too bad their reliability sucks.

And about the race..good kill..I'm sure him having passengers slowed him up some but TL's aren't slouches and SRT's aren't race cars.

And I know for a fact TL's aren't without there short comings. The motors in SRT's arent the same ones used in regular trim Neons..so if your comparing the two don't..and the NEW motor in the SRT4 Caliber is a "World" engine.. I don't have a lot of info on it but I'm assuming it's about the same as the EVO motor.

I agree the motors in the SRTs are bulletproof but I was wondering about the rest of the car. Do you or any of your buddies have issues with fit and finish or other components of the car going bad? just wondering

This car for me is something that gets good mpg and runs really good. Yes the TL is a better over all car and has a lot more luxury...but the SRT is waaay more fun to drive..do I care if it's going to last? Ummm..nope..but it's serving it's purpose now and has held it's own with cars worth twice as much.
Anyways, the new Challenger is the next car on my list.

Hey man I am not saying the srt-4 is a POS. I personally think it's a fun car and wouldn't mind have one as a toy, but I am sayting that overall Dodge makes unreliable vehicles, actually DC makes unreliable vehicle. My family, friends, co-workers and I have all owned DC products of different models, years, covering a large portion of the DC world and my everyone had a thick rapsheet of problems with their vehicle. Neon's with engine trouble, failing brakes, suspension components constantly needing to be replaced(not abused, my 55yr old aunts car), car ended up being totalled out when it was 5yrs old because there were so many problems it wasn't worth fixing. Then a good friend of mine owned a dodge caravan and went thru 3 trannys in 2 yrs, engine ran like dog crap no matter what we did(ghost in the machine we always laughed), he got rid of it after 3yrs of misery and was 6k upside down because the aftermarket is flooded with barely used carvans, let alone a 3yrs old ancient POS. My sister had same problems with her caravan's tranny, also with sliding doors, engine oil gelled, totalled. I am sorry but DC makes unreliable vehicles, near the bottom end of quality out there. There are a few diamonds in the rough, the srt-4 is one of them, but time will tell that they are not reliable.

forget this reliability mess. i have a friend with an srt-4 and get this, he has 87k miles on it already...and he's on his FIRST transmission. But he's still less reliable, because its a dodge, and my 3 previous transmission dont count, because me car is japanese. (oh heavens)

Dang, hell I'd hate Dodge too if I had all those problems. I can't defend them too much, my dad has had two new Rams one with a 5.9L and the new one with a Hemi and both had/have tranny problems. The 5.9 had to have a new transmission after the first 500miles.. And now his Hemi has 50,000 miles and has a dying transmission (never used for towing or racing).
But it seems these days "new" cars aren't made as well..the last Chevy I had was a brand new 96 Camaro V6 and its input shaft broke off and it had two transmission rebuilds before it was a year old.
The biggiest complaint I have about my SRT is the clutch is crap..mine is starting to show signs of slipping.
My wife's TL has been in the shop a half dozen times with a "shakey" steering wheel (I still say that is cuz she hits curbs and won't admit to it..lol)..and the usual interior rattles (that drive her nuts). So, some cars are worse than others but they all turn to crap as soon as u drive them off the lot.

I cant wait for the new challenger comes out, so I can smoke it. Just like those SRT-4's and Charger SRT-8's. I love pulling up next to those big muscle cars and smoking them, especially at the track.
