bay area shops for TL?
anybody recommend a good, fairly inexpensive shop that you trust with your TL? I feel that a lot of shops are still inexperienced with TL's and I wouldnt trust them to install suspension, or anything that requires taking apart pieces of my car.
BTW, is 100.00 a fair price to install a RSB? I felt that was ridiculous when I asked...
Thanks

if you find a shop with experienced techs the type of car shouldnt matter. any good shop will let you know up front if they do not do work on any type of car. its hard to find a shop that will turn away a honda/acura...i can list a few suspension shops, etc in north bay area if you are in this area.

AVB for President!
An RSB takes about 15 minutes to install. So that's about $400/hr if you think about the fact that they are charging $100. So, no. I'd say fair would be $25, maybe $50.

You could try Exact Motorsports in Milpitas, I know a few people from this board have gone there. I had my springs put on there for 200, I don't know how much it would cost for sways.

When I had my 01 CL Type S I called comtech and he recommended Acura of Pleasanton. They did it and gave a warranty on the install. They are Mod friendly......It is also a POM (Peace of Mind) if any thing goes wrong ....

exactly. if a shop is inexperienced with a TL then that shop either just opened and hired a bunch of people with no experience working on cars or the shop is about to go out of business because they dont know what the hell they are doing. find a good mechanic if you dont do the work yourself and stick with them if the rates are reasonable.

I agree w/Fabvsix. I was going to have the dealer put on my wing spoiler because of the warranty. I ended up just doing it myself, however.
I've brought my MR2 to Motorsports Techniques in Hayward. They did my struts, springs, TRD sway bar, etc. Although they appear more Honda/Acura-centric (although it's probably just 'cuz more people mod those cars), Tim, the guy who did my MR2, is also familiar with the nuances of Toyota suspensions (it's different and easy to install incorrectly, as I learned the hard and expensive way at another shop). I would have no reservations with bring my TL there, and I'll even bring my new, old Porsche there for an alignment. Here's their site:

I take my car to Infinite Motorsports here in San Francisco, they did my Teins and my sway bar, and I personally know a few other TL's they've worked on, so they are familiar w/ our cars
