Battery Charge Master & 04 TL

I am looking for comments on adding an on-board charger for the battery on the new TL. My question from yesterday seems to have disappeared. I bought a Schauer Fully automatic charger which I plan to install. Before I install this I was hoping to get suggestions or comments. This was suggested by the auto parts store to avoid a dead battery when I leave the car for extended periods of time. The dealer service representative suggested a battery tender to solve the problem. My questions are do these work well and do they cause any side effects. Thanks.
G.

According to the dealer, I should disconnect the battery if I am away for more than 3 days. The auto parts guy said this should help if I am away for more than a week. The auto parts guy said he sels them mostly to people who have cars they only use on the weekends in good weather and a different model for boat owners that only use their boats on weekends.

That is BS. I left my car garaged for 4 days and have no problems with the battery. Check the battery indicator, it should be blue.

I think it's a bunch of BS. My S2000 gets driven about once every couple of weeks. The battery has lasted 3 years and it's still fine.
