B2 service and trans fluid check
When I was setting an appointment for B2 service, I was told that my "check transmission fluid" is also due and needs to be done. Looking at the B2 service it seems to me that it should already be done under "Visually inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids":
6 Speed Manual w/Navigation - Recommended service:
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Rotate tires
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Visually inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Visually inspect suspension components
Visually inspect driveshaft boots
Visually inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
Visually inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids
Visually inspect exhaust system#
Visually inspect fuel lines and connections#
#: See information on maintenance and emissions warranty in the first column on page 206.
Am I being sold here something that is already covered?

To be honest with you I highly doubt that the dealer will go through these service 100% like listed, they will go over the major things only and the rest is nothing but eyes ball check you can do that by just looking underneath the car and checking for leaks, parking brakes won't goes bad unless you use ebrake for drifting, I never had bad experience with parking brakes even with my old 5spd legend. However if you have extended warranty then you must get this service done so the warranty won't be voided, this is why I don't buy extended warranty.

I looked thru the manual and the only thing it called for outside of the regularly scheduled maintenance was to replace brake fluid every 3 years. Now I wonder if I misheard lady on the phone and it was that instead of transmission fluid check. Or maybe she confused two. I will straighten it out when I go for the service.
Thanks!

I had a chance to talk to them and they said that transmission fluid has to be changed every 30k and that's why they adding B3 service on top of my B2. I don't remember seeing transmission fluid being changed outside of the service minder scheduled services, but I will double check with the manual when I come home tonight.
