B13 Message - How often to change fluid?
Ok, I have an 06 6MT. I did the syncromesh 3 quart change in October. I am not sure if the computer told me to do it but I think it did. Now it has a B13 code which is for the fluid again. Here are the questions?
How does the computer know when....miles, conditions, shifting?
How often would you change your 6MT fluid? When the computer says?
If the computer did say in October to change it, isn't it early to do it again or is that about right? We have only added 6K miles since the last change.

How many miles on your TL?
This is probably the first time a "3" has come up on your MID. The MID has no way of knowing when you changed the fluid since you have not yet had the opportunity to reset the MID for this message. The Acura recommended change interval is to follow the MID (unless slow speeds in mountainous areas). There is no mileage recommendation listed for normal driving conditions. (I have 90K on my 04 TL and I have not yet received a "3" on the MID)
Most folks here seem to go with 30K intervals with a 6MT and the GM fluid, probably overkill.

with the problems these trans have- I would change the fluid every 15kmiles or once a year
That will keep fresh fluid which cools better in there, and if any water got in the overflow vent during heavy winter we had- go thru a deep puddle and it can get in and ruins fluid
Change it every year- along with brake fluid and home smoke detector batteries
Safety saves lives
