B1 Service question in NoVA

My service B1 is due on my Type S, the dealership charges about $220, and everything is just inspections, oil change and rotate tires, it seems high to me, just for looking at the bottom of the car. So I have decided to either go somewhere else to get it done, or just get the oil change and rotate the tires at the dealership, the questions that I have are,
Should I get the B1 Service done at the dealer?
Where can I go in NoVA to get the B1 service for cheaper?
Should I just get the oil change done and rotate the tires at the dealer?
Would I have any warranty problems in the future if I don't get it done at the dealer?

Thanks.

Most of the B1 service is just inspections. You can do the other stuff yourself and save some money. Look in the owners manual to see a detailed list of what is done.
I chose to go the dealer route for all my service. It's paid off so far in that some other stuff I wanted done was complimentary. Plus, if something does go bad they know the complete maintenance history and that it was done by them.

What I generally do, while my cars are under warranty, is look at what services are required and then either search the internet for local dealers with specials on those specific services or call around for quotes on only the "work" that is done. Most dealerships do the "inspections" as part of any standard service including oil changes.

Just last week (for my other car) I got a quote of $150 for a B service from the dealer. It was only an oil change and tire rotation. I checked the internet and found a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation for $39. I got the dealer to match that. He had to comp the oil change for me, but he did it and all of the inspections too.

shubysingh,

You got routine maintenance covered in your purchase? Who did you buy your car from? That's a great add on to the purchase.

I got TLC and that does not cover routine maint. The only people I know that cover it is BMW...

If I remember correctly for a B1 I paid 180 at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA (it was close to me)
