^^^ just to make sure your clear on this ALL 07 and 08 Type S's get the Brembo brakes regardless of transmission. It's only the older 04 to 06's that the Brembo's are manual tranny specific.

Everything you said seems about right.

Dear OP,

honestly, what kind of information regarding choosing a transmission do you expect users to give you that you already didnt know? I am sure you are not going to choose a tranny by how much fluid it can hold or how it is drained or replaced.

you actually have a better chance of finding a unicorn because the TL-S was only made in 07 and 08

don't forget the brembo's are also more expensive to service/repair when the pads wear out though, so don't forget those costs

I already own a Mazda RX7 (turbo) so that takes care of the manual for me. So.... I opted for an automatic TL (something that my family can drive too).

Even though an auto is faster for drag racing and acceleration from 0 a manual feels faster because you have more control and are more one with the car. An automatic is best for something like drag racing but for touring racing a manual would be slightly better for accelerating out of turns in the optimal gear instead of the one the computer would choose for economy.

congrats for revival a zombie thread.

Regardless of what you think, it been proven time and time again that manual trans in the TL is faster than auto when compare apple to apple.
