Ha! What a tool bag. You got to love how these guys make it out to be such an adventure and them putting down our FWD cars. Whatever. And the girl obviously was admiring the car. Too funny. Did she see the interior to the S4-ughhh. I know that area good, I am from Philly area. The roads are not smart to have a race on at all.

I'm from King of prussia too...where you at coop1018? It's nice to find another enthusiast in the area...I thought Love my 99 and I were the only ones! But yeah, I agree...route 1 to 76 and all the little exits that head towards kelly and lincoln dr...very dangerous place to be playing.

Ha!! Thanks for thinking of me! No, I am pretty stupid and do give in to racing most of the time but if it is in a dangerous area where people are or I risk screwing up my car, I don't bother. Not worth the trouble!

There's a point where I have to draw the line.

I've owned Audis (A4/S4), and after all the quality sh*t that's transpired with my TL, and the FWD platform, the TL has nothing on the S4. It's a $53,000 car - the TL is $32k and built like a Civic.

I can't believe some nimrod on this board who can't spell (and has a complete lack of grammar no less).

As I've said before... street racers!

I find it funny that when ever someone posts one of these stories, it's always the other guy who starts something, " he revved his engine and i tried to ignore him". Grow up!

Having owned a '96 A4, '98 A4 with sport package & most recently a 2002 allroad, I think any of those 3 can outhandle my TL. I love my TL for many reasons but quattro far outhandles FWD on any surface, dry, wet, ice or snow. Comparing a TL to an S4 is ridiculous. That story about the S4 doing a 360 is BS. Between quattro and ESP (Audi's version of VSA) I couldn't get my Audis to do "donuts" in snow if I wanted to. Again, the TL is a great car but I have noticed so many reasons why my allroad was $15K more expensive.

There's no doubt that the M3 and S4 are superior to the TL they should be for a 25K+ price differential, A Ferrari is also better, DUHHHHH. The point is find any car in its price range that can offer the performance amenities and reliabilty of the TL, It just doesn't exist! :P

You know whats Funny about this people keep knocking Front wheel drive. Look at the RealTime racing team. All the do is race front wheel drive Scca race cars and win championships. http://www.realtimerl.com/. But the TL is not set up like a S4 or a M3. Those are motorsports division of Audi and BMW with tuned performance parts for those Factory cars. Lets see is Comptech can make a performance edge for the TL..

I don't want to get into a FWD vs. RWD vs. AWD/4WD discussion, but put simply, an S4 (or M3) would put our cars to shame.

A closer race would be against the Audi A4 3.0 ("FrontTrak"), the $40k piece of trash I passed on when I bought my TL.

Im sure if Acura was willing to put the amount of money available from raising the price up to those car levels into development, it would have a better car than they have produced. One thing - with 350 or so horsepower (which Acura could pull from a 3.5L non forced induction), Acura would have to make it RWD or AWD. If they did this to the TL, it would be roomier and still be more reliable than M3 or S4 too.

No arguing on those basic facts! There is nothing sweeter than 300HP plus in a small slick handling car!

Most audi drivers can never get past the small d*ck feeling that they are riding in the wake of real german brands like Mercedes and BMW.

As far as popular opinion goes, most people probably feel that Audi is indeed riding in the wake of MB and BMW. I personaly feel, as I'm sure most Audi drivers, that Audis are just as good if not better than MB or BMW and not as overpriced. When I bought my first of 3 A6's, I was considering the 5 series and Lexus GS. The Audi was just a better value and IMO had better styling. I also liked the fact that they were a rare sight, not so much today though. If you're looking for purely a status symbol, then MB and BMW is the way to go. But if you're looking for the whole package... value, styling, luxury, sport... then you must put the name plate aside and choose the one you feel best meets your needs and wants.

Your post seems to imply that most people who buy Audis really aspire to own the other brands and have settled for a lesser car. I'm sure that's not the case with most and it certainly wasn't the case with me.

Yeah, that's why the majority of the MB line only comes with a slushbox. I'll take an S4 or RS4 (note to Audi...please build this car) any day over a Benz.

I thought AUDI was the one OVERPRICED? For example, I was considering A4 & TL..but couldn't justify buying a 170hp 1.8T when I could buy a bigger and more powerful 270hp TL....

To me, AUDI IS EXPENSIVE!

What is the difference between S4 and RS4? And by the way I have owned MB for my last car and the "timeless style" of some of their cars has run out of time! In my opinion from driving several of both brands (BMW and MB) MB seems focused more towards luxurious while BMW is more sporty. Both nice cars, both overpriced. Never drove an Audi, was just not attracted to the fact that people could mistake it for a VW. People could mistake the TL for an Accord, but my friend has an 03 and there are notable differences.

When compared to BMW and MB, Audi is not as overpriced. When compared to the TL, an A4 is definetly overpriced.

The RS4 was a european only model. It was available only in avant and had the same bi-turbo 2.7L eingine as the B5 S4 but made 380hp or 130 more than the S4.

They're pulling 300HP from the '05 RL. It's AWD also.

I think people make that "he revved his engine" crap up. Even in my crazy youth people just knew when there was going to be a race (come on, male, young, duh), only moronic meatheads raced the motor. As for the rest of the story, how was this guy spending so much time driving through curves and dips while staring through the rear view mirror to see every move the TL made?? Does the S4 have automatic pilot?
