I am wondering if anyone traded in an 02 or 03 maxima 6 speed for a new TL. Especially a 6 speed TL.

I was wondering what your general feelings were comparing the 2 cars. What was better on the Maxima, what is better on the TL, etc.

I currently have an 02 6 speed I am considering trading in on an 04 TL

You won't have to worry about your headlights being stolen. But the paint is better on the Nissan.

I traded an 03 6speed maxima...

Nissan pros - extra oomph from the VQ, heated steering wheel, compass in rearview, great space,

Nissan cons - tires,rotors,non-refinement, interior plastics though they are better then the 04 max, bose sound system terrible and the sub woofer rattled too much, wind noise from back seats, stiff leather, headlights easily stolen, nissan service, massive torque steer acura seems to disguise it much better, cd based navigation

Acura pros- REFINEMENT, XM, bluetooth, dvd-audio one of the best stock systems, looks, acura service, voice activated navigation, excellent HIDS, brembo brakes, lsd,vsa, should i go on?

Me and a good friend of mine were nissan lovers. We both had 99 SE's and traded up to his 02 and my 03. He had so many issues with his car. We finally opened our eyes to a different manufacturer Acura...he ordered his last week

Yeah, the Maxima pissed me off when I first bought it, I had to have to bose stereo replaced 3 times. Haven't had to have it replaced in about a year now, though...

achadha100, did you get a 6 speed TL? Did the Maxima feel faster? If you don't mind me asking, what kind of trade in did they give you on your Maxima?

Right now about the only thing I think I'm going to miss about the maxima is the heated steering wheel...it's funny, 2 years ago I never thought I would even care that the car had it.

Yeah i got the 6 speed TL and yes the maxima did feel a little bit faster from 60-100...I got a very good trade in price of 18k for a 2003 with 12k miles. I did take a loss of 1200 though it was well worth it. I think the TL is just as fast if not faster you just don't feel the quickness because of the refinement in the TL over the maxima
