Because in Europe they figured out that they're actually a SAFETY FEATURE, not a Bling Bling feature. On today's heavily congested roads, those side signals may be the only way some other drivers around you might see your intentions to turn or change lanes.
Our 3G TL's were supposed to have them. The 1st 3000 '04's produced had turn signal mirrors listed on the window sticker while the cars came without.

You would think that Acura would spend the $5 or $10 dollars to install the relay for the side marker lamps to flash on/off in cadence with the turn signal vs the turn signal mirror.
