They are not the same rear calipers as on the AT cars.
I have seen several GM cars doing the same on all four (dark colored vs the silver from the factory).

I did. Looks much better in black. I'd really like to paint front and rear red. But I'd have to cover up the Acura lettering.

I left my calipers on and masked around them. I used Gunk to clean the surface, lightly scuffed with steel wool, rinsed and let dry. Once dry, I applied four light coats and let dry overnight..
Good luck..
VHT Caliper Paint $6.99
Can of Gunk degreaser $2 something for a total of $10.00
Calipers that match.........Priceless

I'd love to see some pics of the rear calipers. I haven't even gottem my car yet, but I'm already thinking of painting the rear brakes to match the Brembo's in the front. Any pictures would be appreciated.

I want to do this also.... Questions not yet answered....
1. What color and Brand from Pep Boys?
2. Did you have to remove the rim?
3. How difficult was it to tape off and apply?
Thanks!!!! If I do this Ill post up some pictures for all to see...

Taking off the wheel is the least you have to do. The proper way to paint calipers is to take them off the brackets completely and paint them thoroughly, let dry, and apply a second coat as necessary, then finish off with a clearcoat. Of course, the paint and the clearcoat have to be the high temperature kind to withstand the tremendous amount of heat.
Put them back on, then bleed the brake lines as they will collect a ton of air in them while the calipers are off.

This may help clear up your questions and give another alternative
plus I thought the brembos are just gloss black.

I took my wheel off when I painted mine, but I did not take off the calipers. I just makes around them.
The paint I used was Duplicolor that I bought from Autozone. It comes with the paint, degreaser, and an application paint brush. I put on about 4-5 coats on both calipers and it took me about 1 hour for each caliper. The cost of the kit was about $15.
I am glad I did this, now the rears match pretty well with the Brembos up front.

I did mine with the Plasti-Kote Caliper paint.
1) remove wheel
2) use a wire brush / wheel to clean up the caliper
3) Clean it using Brakleen , spray liberally and let run off.
4) mask the rotor etc
5) put an old sheet over the fender / hood and tuck it between the rotor and the suspension
6) apply a light coat
7) hit it with the hair dryer on hot till dry to the touch .. bout 15 seconds
8) repeat for a total of 3 layers .. each thicker than the last.
9) install wheel.
So far I have 3 summers and 2 winter seasons on them and no touchup required. Cost was -$12
I'd post pix but it is on my VW and you don't want to see that ..

Thanks for the detailed info. one more question for you
did you let it dry overnight or not?
thanks

A plastic shopping bag works well to cover the rotor and slide between brake pad and rotor. You'll still need to cover any painted surfaces close by to prevent overspray

I am in other forums where you can edit forever, but we have found out, through experience, that that wouldn't work here.
