Anyone make a Hepa or charcoal cabin filter?

I've been looking for preferably an activated carbon and Hepa filter. So far only found a carbon filter for up to an 04 TL which I ordered and didn't come close to fitting. After an hour of seaching I don't think one exists for the 06 TL. Next stop is Home Depot. I think I'm going to cut down one of their home hepa filters for use in the TL.

The Bosch brand cabin filters have a micro treatment- or you can add a small piece of home depot furnace filter to the unit

It wouldn't make sense for Acura to change the air filter size mid-production.. I know people on here have them I just can't remember who makes it..

Edit: Check here:

Thanks. I ordered one for an 04 TL and got two small filters like the 2nd gen used. No way to fit them both and I had already destroyed the stock filter. Had to chop them up to make them fit. It looks like the store sent me the wrong filters now.

The bosch filter has the wrong listing for anything newer than a 2003/2G TL. It is however the only filter they have for the 3GTL with charcoal - IE they don't make the correct one.....

That's good to know. I wish I knew it before I spent the $45. Going down to Home Depot today to look for the smallest home Hepa filter I can find and cut it to make it work.

For some reason you will find that a lot of times the parts catalogs at NAPA, carquest ect. have the 2g going through MY 04'. I got an oil filter and both places had the 03 filter the same as the 04' which we all know is not the case. I told them to look up an 05' and it was the correct one. Go figure. Maybe use 05' as your MY if you have an 04'. I too wish they made a charcoal fiter, it would help reduce some of the odors and crap form outside. My A4 had a charcoal filter and it worked really well.

FWIW, an oil filter for an 03' will still work on an 04' and 05'. I bought a whole case of Mobile-1 filters for our 03' TL. We traded that car in for an 05' TL. I still used those filters till I ran out, before I switched to the M1-110.

I got the recommended (and I looked the # up again and matched it to the one they sent me) C-3600 Bosch charcoal filter. The picture of the Bosch shows two filters. The ATP-HA5 shows up on the same page with no picture. The WIX filter picture looks like the right one but it's not an activated charoal.

The wrong Bosch filter is acually working great but it bothers me knowing there's a filter cut into 5 pieces and siliconed together. There is a big difference when I drive by a dairy on the way to work everyday. The smell is still there but not nearly as bad.

Forget HEPA filter for the cabin unless you plan to change them weekly as the filter would need to be alot bigger to last and here is why;

From Wikipedia:

A HEPA (IPA: [ˈhɛpə]) filter is a type of air filter. "HEPA" is an acronym for "high efficiency particulate air filter" (as defined by the United States Department of Energy).[1] The DOE version of the acronym is actually incorrect. The original derivation of HEPA represented "High Efficiency Particulate Arresting" filter. The term "Particulate Air" conveys no meaning.[2]

This type of air filter can remove at least 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 micrometres (µm) in diameter. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter and thus the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Particles that are larger or smaller are filtered with even higher efficiency.

That is 0.0000003 meter (One meter is approx 39 5/8 inches)

I bought 3 of the ATP ones awhile ago to stock up, they fit fine and work good at removing cigarette odors

The Bosch Filter is wrong. I emailed Bosch and the company I bought it from about it like a year ago. Nice to know they haven't fixed their shit.

ATP HA5 is the way to go if you want charcoal. I just installed my 2nd one yesterday.

And yes, www.rockauto.com is where I got the ATP.
