Hello all,

I have a friend who is purchasing an 06 TL and asked me about dealer paint protection. I told him not to buy anything from the dealer as should be the rule.

However, he insists that he seen vehicles with the paint protection applied and it was "amazing"--it was called "Strike Force" and comes with a 5-year warranty, blah blah.

I told him I would solicit opinions from this forum...anyone have any objective comments on this particular package?

Tell him not to waste his money .. even the 165 Deg claim is bogus .. most 'good' sealants will handle 400 F ..

Have him contact a good detailer and get the car
done with Klasse etc .. prolly cost him -$150.

The package is no different than any of the other dealer packages .. Read the FAQ page .. its all ambiguous and generalities ..

Agreed. He's buying the wrong car if he thinks the paint won't hold up with the recommended care.

He also commented the car looked amazing .. if he brought me his new TL .. for $150 I'd polish it out and apply Klasse and "then" he would see amazing .. what he is seeing is just shine .. not amazing.
