Anyone with the Carbon Fiber pillar trim?

I have been curious about this stuff for a while now but don't want to buy something that looks like crap. Not quite sure of the quality so does anyone have any experience with this stuff and can you share photos.

Just buy the 3M Di-Noc stuff that is becomming popular here. Much cheaper, and prob. fit better.

It's the same as putting vinyl on your car, why does it need to be real carbon fiber? It's not like your going to replace those parts with real carbon fiber for improved strength and less weight, it's just for looks, so if it accomplishes the look, it shouldn't matter. I guess you could pay more to put real CF on your car... just so you can say it's real

by the same mentality putting fake chrome inserts in the fender sure LOOKS the part but if its really just stick on autozone product i think it looks tacky as hell

maybe its just me...i think if youre gunna do something to the TL do it right yknow?

coming from honda tuning ive seen too many tatsless mods and "ricer" mods

call me a purist but ill probably order the real CF colums for my NBP

i agree that if not done right, it would look absolutely tasteless and downright horrid, i see chrystler 300s with chrome vents, chrome window trim, chrome pillars, chrome handles, chrome grilles... and anything else chrome they can find stuck to their car, and it disgusts me every time.

the only reason i can see di-noc being a better alternative to real CF is it's thin and will probably overlay smoother, although i've never used to stuff so i'm basing this on what i've seen here

Guys, good exchange of information and ideas. If you look at car manufacturers like Lamborghini, they're making the bodies of their cars and other components with the "real-deal" carbon fiber to reduce car weight. On a high performance supercar like that-it makes a big difference.

We're using this carbon fiber for aesthetic purposes-there IS no weight reduction involved-and for no reason to get weight reduction done.
