Anybody Have These? *Pics*
I noticed these stickers on all the doors, trunk lid, and hood. I don't know what they are or what they are for. I called the salesman and he said he THINKS these go with the VIN number that's etched in all the glass. He said my car was tranferred from another dealership because they didn't have what I wanted and this was already installed and I didn't have to pay for it. I don't understand why the stickers say "DNA Trace System." My insurance agent asked if I had my VIN etched in the glass and gave me a $48 discount.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

that's BS.....there is no way, other than the actual honda vin stickers (upper left in your top pic) that those parts are traceable.
DNA, WTF is that on a car?

thats for the lojack, buddy of mine told me that the stickers are there so if the car is stripped and the parts are sold, they can trace by locations who did it

It's a parts ID marking/tracking system and I don't think it has anything to do with/any connection to LoJack.

The DNA trace system looks like a form or system called DATA DOT, at my honda dealership that i work we put DATA DOT on every car that we sell. Look in all your door jambs and under your hood for like traces of some sort or little glue blotches with things that look like glitter in them. Its pretty much like a sort of car DNA the dealerships place what looks like glue and glitter all over the cars near all of the VIN stickers, what the "glitter" is are little computer chips that when scanned under some ultraviolet lighted scan tool can read out a code that is randomly picked out specifically for your vehicle. What it is supposed to do is if your car gets stolen and parted out if they find your car parts they can identify them to belonging to your vehicle, its pretty stupid and im not sure if it even works it pretty much is a way for the dealership to mark up the sticker price on your car a few hundred dollars!

Thanks Jz. I never even thought about Gooleing it. Is that a word?..LOL. I am just glad I got it for free and then got a discount on my insurance. The sticker looks weird and the word "DNA" freaked me out.

I've noticed the same stickers on my '06 TL a few times without much thought but decided to see what they were and found this thread. My experience matches you guys; my car has the VIN etching and wheel locks as part of a 'vehicle protection package' that the dealer put on the car.
I had negotiated the car from out of state via email and stated that I did not want ANY dealer add-ons and since my car was a special order from the factory, I was able to get it sans tint, etc. When I went to sign the paperwork, the 'protection package' was a line item @ $300+. Of course, I let them know I wouldn't be paying for it and to remove it from the invoice but it turns out it was already on the car and seeing as they can't un-etch the VIN from the windows, I got the package for free.
So it looks like the stickers are associated with the VIN etching services that some dealers provide. I'm not sure what good a sticker does as it can be easily removed... I guess its sort of like the blinking 'security' lights that our cars have. Anyways... I was hoping that my car had a free lo-jack system. Oh well...
