Ive own the S4 for a year now and I test drove the TL last week. The TL was not as fast as my S4 but I like the way it looks, its reliablity and all the goodies it has. Im thinking of trading in my S4 for a TL and would like to hear some experiences from former S4 owner and opinions/comment coming off the S4 to the TL. What was in the TL that made you go through the trade? Please help me decide. Thank you. any input would be helpful because Im stuck right now.

 

as a former 2000 S4 owner I'm extremely pleased. The TL has more space, is quicker in certain areas of the rev range (not 0-60 mind you), and has a LOT better feature set (Audi A4/A6 lacking full screen navigation is a puzzle to me). Many people have told me that the Acura "feels" more luxurious than the current A4.

I would probably recommend the A-SPEC upgrades (tires, suspension, etc.) to stiffen the ride, and you may still miss the S4's steering wheel...

Ultimately the thing that prevented me from buying another Audi was price (2004 S4 is $53k - and a dealer wanted to sell a DEMO at that price) and Audi Client Relations (or lack thereof).

My main reason for wanting to trade is because of turbo issues. I have not experienced yet, maybe just lucky, but I dont want to be there when it happens. My question is do you feel traction is an issue compare to the AWD. Does the front wheel holds down pretty well? I test drove the 6MT and the shifter is sooooo much smoother(#2 reason for trade) but didnt really go that far to really experience it. and on screen navi (#3reason) like you said. What is really stopping for going thru mainly because its going to be my only car which means I gotta drive it in snow and some pretty bad weather here in the east coast. Thank you for your reply.
