Anthracite Pinstripe???

Anyone out there have a pinstripe on an Anthracite? If so, what color is it? Pictures would be a GREAT plus. Thanks!

Pinstripes have no business being on the TL. :nono:

Pinstripes on an Anthracite TL would be particularly nasty!

Come on now...plenty of new cars have a simple stripe down the side. Jeeze, the 97 mustang I traded in and Honda Passport my wife drove both had them. The below is just ridiculously overstated....not what I meant at all.

That being said, I thought it just didn't fit because of the side molding.

Maybe a black pinstripe on Anthracite. I wouldn't do it tho.

Silver threads among the gold....

Fish....

Don't let these style sheep get at you. They are trend followers, not trend setters.

Almost everyone told me not to get pinstriping on my TL. On this forum and also on the detailing forum.

But, I saw some delicate artwork on a black TL in Delray Beach. It was two thin stripes, one gold and one to match the Camel interior about an inch and a half below the horizontal plain with a stylized, tiny spearhead at the front and a little custom florish at the back.

The dealer owed it to me as I had got him to throw it in with the car. I thought about it long and hard and then said, "Screw it. I like it and it's my car. I don't care if anyone else likes it or not."

I got it and it get compliments all the time. Just because it was used in the '80s doesn't make it bad or dated. It was also used on the best autos of the twenties and thirties. A subtle, well done, personalized, artistic adornment is never out of fashion. Just don't do the tapes and find a good striper whose work you can review. The retail cost of mine was $295. But it was free for me.

Those of you who don't like it, don't have to ride in my TL. And I would caution not to condemn it without seeing it. I'll have pics later.

How about one of those "Starsky and Hutch" type stripes?

i saw an anthracite with pin stripes on the street the other day. it look about $10K cheaper, the pin stripe made it look alot like a 1995 accord or 97 camry. the TL already has a very distinct and and well defined line running the length of the car. the added pinstripe to the car just made it sore on the eyes cause i kept looking at the natural groove that was on the car then back to the pin stripe. kinda made me dizzy staring back and forth between the lines. it would be best if you saw pictures of it. search the net or maybe xpditor42 can post pics of his. if you like it then go with it, its your car.

Pinstripe? Are you planning on bumper stickers too?
