Another Vibration Story
I have been reading all of the posts concerning the driveline vibration and I thought that I was lucky since this did not affect me. I purchased my SSM TL (AMT)in June and it's been operating fine. At 5000 Miles I decided to bring it in to NTB and have the tires rotated and the oil changed. Thus to my surprise the car instantly began to vibrate between 40-50 MPH and 1500 RPMS. Ride was allful, tires were thumping, harsh riding and that rotten egg smell started to appear. I can feel the vibration in the gas pedal. The car also started lugging in that 5th gear. Took it to the Acura dealer and was told that all four tires needed balanced and that dronning sound that also appeared was told that that was exhaust noise. Service did not correct the problem. They called me to see if I was satified and told them no. I've been waiting for a return call now for five days.
In the meantime went out and purchased Perilli PZero Nero tires. The grip is amazing and the car doesn't jar anymore when you hit a bump. Too early to tell about the vibration. Does anybody see any pattern developing here.

What the hell do tires have to do with lugging and rotten egg smell? The smell is the catalytic convertor burning off fuel contaminants and the engine lugging may be from contaminated fuel also. I'd find a new gas station before you raise any more hell with your dealer's service department.

I have switched to Sunoco 94 Octane. This hasn't help with the hesitation in the engine. This is unrelated to the vibration I feel with the accelerator pedal. My complaint with the service department is that they did not test drive the vehicle. They only assumed that the vibration was a tire balancing problem and that the computer check on tte engine indicated all is fine. Out of the shop in 30 minutes.
