Another Dealer Disaster

Brought my 06 TL in the other day to the dealer to have the drivers seat checked. It felt like it was rocking a bit on take off. The told me they took the seat out, checked it and put it back in. Well the seat feels fine now... when I got home I notices that the plastic piece between the door and seat wass all gouged up. So I took the car back super pissed. This was my first experiance with this dealer in Bham and it was a crappy one. I asked the service guy to come out and look and he told me he know what parts I need to have replaced and he would order them. I was so mad after this that I felt like they should make it up to me for having to put my car back in for another day. I asked the to please help me out by getting me a new kep and fob. When I bought the car I only got one of each. He seemed like this was a tall order and he had to speak to his mgr. He said he would call me. This was noon today and still no call. Should I call the mgr myself and am I way out of line for asking the dealership to go the extra mile to compensate me? Thanks for the advice.

Did you buy the car from this dealership? IF so, asking them for a key and fob would be a good idea since two are supposed to be provided with a CPO. If not, then asking for one would seem unlikely, though you could ask them for a free oil change which is much cheaper (150 dollars vs. 30)

Did not buy from a dealer. Bought from a private party. That is good advise though...Probably went a bit to far becasue I was so pissed.

its human nature to be pissed. I suggest that you call service tomorrow and say, hi, i didn't realize the keys cost so much to do and well, that is outrageous of me to ask for the inconvenience that occured to me, a free oil change is good enough for me.

Looks like a simple mistake to me. The guy said he would fix it for you with no questions asked. Why be "super" pissed?

Maybe a free oil change?

I mean yeah, what these guys said. You're certainly not out of bounds by being pissed, but it sounds like they're trying to do the right thing and replace it. If you really want to gouge them I'd think an oil change would be the most reasonable thing to ask for.

Well I agreed that I may have over reacted but as I am sure all of you feel the same way as I do about my car. I means a lot to me and I love this car. i kind of lost it. Well today the customer relations person from the dealership call me and asked me to come back buy so she could look at the car. She had the head of service and parts come out and take a look. I took your advice and just said a free oil change would make me happy along with the repairs. The woman told me that the way me car was treated was unacceptable and she insisted that the least the could do to help me out was have the parts overnighted and make me the key and get me the remote. I tried to tell her about how I went overboard about the situation but she was already at the parts desk pulling the key and getting it cut. Over all when I went there I was not looking for a comp as much as a solution but after dealing with the woman at the dealership and how well I was treated I would recomend King Acura in Bham any day. It seems like my confidence has been restored . Thanks everyone for helping me see that I may have been wrong on this one.
