The installer gave me a pice of 3m and XPEL and told me to try to poke a whole in them with an ink pen. Couldn't make a whole or even a serious dimple on the XPEL. No whole in the 3M either, but a big permanent dimple was present.
Back to the original question. I would recommend asking the installer how they prep the car. What they should do is: wash, remove any contamination (such as oils, waxes, etc.) and clay the car right before the install. For the film to properly adhere to the clearcoat, all those steps should be done. Then you wax/ zaino over the bra.
