AM Wheels

I went to have my black & chrome after market wheels installed today on my 08 TLS. They wouldn't fit because of the Brembo Brakes. I had them on my 05 TL and they fit great. I'll throw them on my wives 03 325 ci.
I was thinking of having the stock wheels of the TLS powder coated black, the car is black. I use the car in the winter up here in Boston, not sure how the powder coating will hold up. Any input is appreciated, thanks again.

Bill, powdercoating is extremely durable. It should last, no problem. Painting, on the other hand, is just as fragile as the paint on your car's body.

Also, to add, your black/chrome wheels won't fit on your wife's Bimmer. The Bimmer's bolt pattern is 5x120, and ours is 5x114.3.

I couldn't have said it better.

I had a set of RJ Legend II's powdercoated back in October and I haven't a single problem with them yet. Painting is cheaper, but I would rather pay the extra money knowing that my finish on my wheels won't fade or chip. The only way powdercoating will come off while you are driving is if you are a curb crusher and you smack every one that you see. I hope you aren't like that, so I don't think you shouldn't have a problem whatsoever.
