"Allow myself to introduce...myself"
Hi, I'm John.
I just recently purchased a 2005 TL 6-Speed Blk/Blk.
Some background information on me:
I come from a long line of cars:
Black 1984 Toyota Supra 6MGE (destroyed)
Red 1994 Toyota Supra SP67 6-speed (sold)
Red 1993 RX-7 TT (sold, there are no words to describe my hate for the rotary engine)
Black 1991 300ZXTT (sold)
Red 1984 Toyota Supra 6MGE w/ CT-67 turbo and a bunch of upgrades (garage)
Black 2002 Audi S4 Autospeed GT28RS TT 6-speed (destroyed, story to follow)
I had never actually looked at a TL before destroying my Audi, but I felt it was time to move into something with less power than my Audi and with nicer interior amenities. So after two months of searching I came up with the TL and flew out to Chicago to pick her up. Let me just say that driving back through snow in Ohio on summer tires is a really bad idea. Eight hours from Chicago to Pittsburgh which should have only taken six. I'm an active/productive member of the AudiWorld community and hope to bring that same aura here.
As I said, there is a story about my Audi and why I'm in a TL now. On February 17 I was merging onto the I-376W (major three lane highway) around 1am when my car hit black ice and I lost control. I slammed into a cement center divider at 65mph and rolled my car seven times (yes, I was very conscious during the entire event). I walked out of my Audi with only two scratches and a bruise to my left knee. Prior to this incident, the car was a 2.8s 0-60 Autospeed Performance monster with 560awhp and 530awtq at 28psi on 93.
I'm looking forward to my TL ownership and am having fun with her as she is, though she could use a little more power and a lot less unsprung weight to make her a little more nimble.
And now, some car pictures !! (TL pics to come later, it's nasty up here in Pittsburgh).

Good choice on the TL. The reason I went with it and not a STi, 335i, EVO, etc... is because the aftermarket is so small that you're so limited to what you can do. You must hate the FWD? BTW did you get the Type S?

Welcome to Acurazine, i'm sure you'll enjoy the site.
Not sure if you've heard of the company but i used to work for GMP Performance, and my boss had a red S4 with about 500 to the wheels as well. They're nice cars!

ahh, I would highly recommend 2 superb all season tires that have been highly rated for snow conditions and both of which I happen to own:
Continental contiextreme contacts (I can vouch these are fantastic in snow - I tested them out in a snow packed ski resort parking lot)
Bridgestone re960 pole positions (fantastic performance and ride quality - rated high in snow, but I havent tested this yet)

are you really 21? how'd you afford those cars? If you paid for them, let me know what you do, so i can get into that field? if not, would your parents like to adopt me
back to the topic, i feel bad for that s4. my friends got a nagaro blue s4 pushing about 500 horses to the wheel. Everytime, i get in his car, then back into mine, it feels like i just went from a motorcycle to a bicycle

Thanks to everyone for the welcome to the forums!
Randomthought: For more details about my Supra and some pictures allow me to link you.
Lee: Thanks for the recommendations!
Lax: I'm not gonna lie about my first round of cars Supra through 300 were all infusion of parent cash. As for my Red Supra, Audi, and now TL, those are all from my cash. I do real estate development and have been actively trading on the stock market since I was 16 (I was an outcast in High School and had nothing better to do, boy did that change when college rolled around).
