I haven't posted here in a while but got my driverside aigbag jacked(perfect...right before thanksgiving). Welll i am not going to rant about it, sh*t happens. Just wanted to see if any members here know where i can purchase a replacement for a 2004 model year car.

I've heard of having the sensors stolen due to them containing Gold. Never heard of someone actually jacking the whole airbag assembly. That takes some nuts to pull off.

This is sad that people are still doing this kind of sh*t. You better that taken care of quickly cuz you know how these NYPD cops are. They will ticket your a$$ for anything and everything the second they get the opportunity. I'm sure you can find a site on the internet that sells these type of airbags. Oh, BTW you may not want to cut corners on this one cuz having a fully functional airbag could be the difference between life and death. Sorry man.

yeah they jacked the whole assembly, at leat they left the 2 screws needed to hold the damn thing in. I mean those screws were not your off the shelf screws so whoever took it was prepared to steal it. been looking on ebay and its around 300 bucks the air bag. but i rather not buy it from people off ebay i don't want to support the theives who steal them(cause you know they are selling stolen ones on ebay).

Very true.. How ironic would it be if you purchased your air bag back. lol. Sorry but that would be funny. But on a serious note there is a member here who swapped an aftermarket steering wheel into his car. He is doing the a mass swap of stuff from his 5AT to 6MT. So try contacting him about buying his airbag possibly. His member name is ACCURATEin. Good luck man and sorry about your luck.

if you have comprehensive insurance coverage, theft while parked is covered.
Airbags should be installed by a pro at the body shop or dealer
It can be accidentally triggered, or installed wrong and not work when you need it

Note on used units- many people have come to find out that `used` airbag contained nothing more than newspaper and dirty socks! no airbag in it all!!!!
