Air vent below rear window

Does anyone know when rear air vent operates and where it draws air out to? BTW, do we have air filter in our cars? I don't see anything in manual.

1. I dunno exactly what you are talking about, dont get the car till tuesday. From what you're describing sounds like it may be a defroster.
2. Yes

What you are looking at by the read window is not a vent for blowing air. It is a vent to allow the trunk to exchange air with the interior of the car. That is why you should not drive with the trunk open due to the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. Think of the vent as the vents to your house’s roof/attic.

Yes, your car has two air filters, one for the engine and one for the interior. The one for the interior is located behind your glove box.

The link given above is for 2G TL and will not apply to 3G TL (which is us).

Here's the correct links for 3G TL from the 3G Garage.

so this air vent below rear window is passive and connected to the trunk?

I thought it would draw air out of the car. I checked top of trunk and couldn't find any vent there.

Correct. It is passive. If the trunk vented to the outside, you would run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
