Air Filter - Interchangeable with Accord?
Does anybody know if the engine air filter (not the cabin filter) for a 2006 TL is interchangeable with an Accord?
The part numbers are close:
TL: 17220-RDA-A00
Accord: 17220-RAA-A00
The Honda dealer near my office has better hours/prices than the Acura dealer.
Thanks in advance.

17220-RAA-A00 ELEMENT ASSY., AIR CLEANER 04 - 05 TSX
Honda doesn't use the same type of part number as Acura
2300285 1 ELEMENT ASSY., AIR CLEANER 06 Accord V6
They are not interchangeable. The part number for the TL is correct, so whoever gave you the part number for the supposedly interchangeable filter is incorrect.
I could post pictures showing they don't look like each other, but the fact that they have different part numbers is enough proof that they are not interchangeable.

Get a K&N and never replace the filter again

Good question... Did you ever find out if they were the same? The TL is based off the Accord, so sharing a simple replacement part like the In-Cabin Air Filter would be logical.
By the way, Ron A... you referenced the TSX Air Filter... maybe that's why they're different?
I'm in the exact same boat... Honda Filters are cheaper

Ron A, Honda and Acura share the same part number convention. The part number for Accord you listed is not the actual part number, rather it's Hondaautomotiveparts.com's internal product number.
If you go to say collegehillshondaparts.com or hondapartsdeals.com, you'll see the actual part numbers there.
I believe that the TL shares the same air filter only with the Accord Hybrid, but not with other Accords.
Hondacuraworld.com is our sponsor and his prices are usually decent with free shipping.

I am 98% sure the Accord and TL Cabin Air Filters are identical.
Looking on RockAuto.com,
Acura 2004 TL (J32A3) > Heating & A/C > Cabin Air Filter
WIX Part # 24815
BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0422023
ATP Part # HA5
Honda 2005 Accord EX (J30A4) > Heating & A/C > Cabin Air Filter
WIX Part# 24815
BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0422023
ATP Part# HA5
Should be interchangeable
