Aftermarket Warranty question

Aftermarket Warranty question
Hey guys- brand new to the forum although I have been trolling around for a couple weeks. I'm looking at a 2007 TL with 57k on it and its obviously out of factory warranty. Curry will not sell anything older than 2009. Is it even possible to buy another aftermarket somewhere? I know these motors are built to last but Im worried about the electrical gremlins! I found some other extended warranty info in the forum but not specific to this. Thanks for the help

Depends on the price and how the repairs were handled. If it was repaired properly, it shouldn't be a big issue. Cars can be put back together correctly....it just doesn't always happen correctly.

$13k. also, they have an extended warranty that covers identically everything on the factory warranty for $1400

Three Wheelin'
been in an accident so warranty will not be included.
honestly, if it was repaired right and you plan on keeping the car until its no longer drivable.
Then go right ahead. I would !

Its a 3rd party aftermarket warranty that can be purchased from the dealer even though there was an accident. ASC is the company.

Get a hold of the warranty contract and documentation and read it carefully. Some of the 3rd party warranties are decent...some are not. I know the one we have on my wife's Equinox covers quite a bit, but they have a clause that REQUIRES the engine oil to be changed every 3k miles to keep the engine warranty even though GM states 6-8k miles. So in theory if we ever have an engine warranty claim, they may be able to deny my claim.
Verify exactly what is covered and what is not covered. Do not let the dealer sales/finance guy try to tell you what is and is not covered....they do not know and they do not care. If it is not in writing from the vendor, it is meaningless.
Verify the deductible per claim.
Verify the claim process.
- do they require you go to a certain place?
- will they pay the mechanic up front or reimburse?
- is the claim/customer service number easy to find?
Which factory warranty? No 3rd party warranty company in their right mind will cover a 6-7 year old car with the exact same coverage as the original factory bumper-to-bumper warranty for a reasonable price. I bet if you check the exclusion list, it will be quite long as to what is not covered.
