I just got back from a 1640 mile trip, me, wife and son. Full trunk and picked up father in law at one point. Average over 30 mph on the highway going 75-80.
Northern Va to Charlotte, NC to Atlanta Ga, back to Charlotte then back home. Four days driving over eights days. This trip put it over 24K in the 25 months.
It was just a great trip, even with the full load, when I stepped on the gas it moved. And when we were staying in Charlotte, hit a few of the backroads. Was a little fun, nothing crazy, but fun.
I did remember to slow down at mile marker 159 on 81 south just north of Salem, Va. was giving 79 in a 65 two years ago. Only saw three troopers in any state waiting to catch speeders.
Can't wait for more trips like this, the TL was made for them.

it is the... e x p e r i e n c e , no not my first car, it's my 12th. But when you drop 34K on a car and two years later you still get giddy driving it, IT FEELS EFFING GOOD!

I'm at 3.5 years and 42k miles. I have had many cars. This one best meets most of my automotive wants and needs like it did on day one. So far, can't think of anything else I want to spend car money on at this time.
Still the best combination of everything for me.

I am just shy of 1 year... I took mine on the longest trip of its life this past week... 115miles from New York, NY to Groton, CT.... and 115miles back the other direction.... those were the best 230miles I have ever driven... it was raining cats and dogs... and I am glad I bought Falken 912.... Although I had other things to worry about like sucking up water in my CAI Vent (
) the car is just a handling marvel... the steering wheel is just sooooo comfortable... this is my 4th car... I am obsessed and I am not going to say I am not... when I park, I do the full 360 walk around fold my mirrors in and beep the alarm 3 times... MAJOR OCD....
lastly... I LOVE MY NBP QUEEN... it was love at first sight... and continues to be

^ Yup...though my car is not just a head turner, it's a body turner -slash- finger pointer -slash- head turner!! ![Pimp](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/pimp.gif)
I think I proposed to her last night...maybe I should get her to sign a pre-nup though in case I leave her for a 4G, then I can have all of my stuff back!

Welcome back. Glad the trip went so well. Now let's see some pics!!
Yeah, I still do the "look back" too. Sometimes I'll even stop and stare. Definately identifies the enthusiast from the regulars.
I had a brand new MDX as a loaner for a few days. It was okay but I couldn't wait to give it back. The TL is just so damn nice.
Off to go wash it now. F*ing birds!!!!

My lease will be up towards the end of the year, but I'm considering buying the car out if the usual suspects (335i, G35, Type-S, etc.) aren't exponentially better.

As for the TL and long trips, absolutely. My '04 manual just continues to keep putting a smile on my face. The wife and I are going to be taking a spring vacation road trip in 5 weeks in her '05 automatic TL (we use mine for the late summer trip). We'll put around 1200 miles on it during that run with a mixture of interstate highway and two and four lane state roads. Then some in town use. We had a set of Goodyear F1 Eagles installed last fall so this will be the first long trip on those tires.
Glad to see you really enjoyed your trip!

Charlotte is a very nice area, north of it on I-77 is still growing like crazy, well everywhere (but I only know north of). If we could, I think we would pack up and go. My F-I-L lives in Davidson, the college town, just outside of it now. The area is busy busy morning and evening rush and weekends, but turns to a ghost town when things are still going here.
Charlotte is a banking city, that's what is runs on, with what is going on right now, there is some talk about things getting hard it that area. But the retire Chairman of BoA thinks that there is enough other companies in the area not to let it happen, just saw him on a newscast this past week.
House wise you can get more down there than up still, but they do have their areas where it matches.
It think public school wise they're behind us here.
Have fun on your trip.
