Question Advice for Dealing with a Dealer

I have owned my 06 TL for about two months, and I have 1200 miles on it. The cliff notes version of my main problem is that there seems to be a leak somewhere that is wreaking havoc with my electrical system. I listed some of the details in the "Weird Electrical Problems" thread. My car has been to the dealer three times, out of service for 21 days, the windshield has been replaced and much of the front end and dash have been disassembled and reassembled in order to diagnose the problem. Things are working right now, but we have not had a sustained rain since the last fix.

When I picked-up my car from the dealership the third time, one of the interior dash panels was scratched-up from removal. In addition, there are 6 or seven shallow scratches in my driver's door. Deep enough that you can catch them with your fingernail. The dealer has ordered the interior panel, and he has agreed to have his paint guy "buff-out the scratches."

I just wanted to get some advice and to make certain that I am not being unreasonable. This car just doesn't feel like a new car to me anymore. I only drive my cars for about three years and my TL is leased. Any chance Acura will take me out of this lease?

Thanks.

call up acura client care services and thell them the lest they should do is replace all of the interior panel that are scratched along with atleat 1 free oil change due to all the hassle. if i were you, i'd as tell them that you've missed work alot because of this and they should replace the car with another one in the same lease so you won't miss any more days if it occurs again. BTW, make fake rian, take hose and sprinkle on enitre car, juwst as if you were washing... but don't dry.

dont know which state you are in but....shouldnt the lemon law kick in after the third attempt to fix the same problem? call up acura directly and complain and be nice about it. i mean the guy on the phone isnt the guy screwed up but its his job to make you happy. tell them you are long time honda/acura fan or you were a long time toyota/lexus and recently decided to go with acura and you are dissapointed with the whole experience. see what the rep can do to make you happy.

for florida, lemon law is that 3 repair attemps or 15 working days out for service. If any of these happen, acura will have to do a final repair attempt. If the problem occurs after the final repair attempt, acura will have to buy back the car.

Lemon Law is greatly misunderstood

Basically your car must have been in the shop more than 3 times for the same problem and in the shop more than 30 biz days total plus much more

Since its a lease, they will want to sit down and make you happy
Going to the Service Manage and the General Manager at the dealer is your solution
Letting them know you belong to acurazine helps too!

You agreed to pay monthly for a properly road worthy car and they agreed to provide you with same item

Thank you all for the great advice. I am going to see what I can get done through Acura and/or the General Manager and Service Manager at the dealer.

For anyone who might be interested, in Maryland the Lemon Law is four attempts to repair the same problem (except for brake or steering failures) or 30 days out of service. At that point, the manufacturer must be given written notice and a last-chance 30 day period to repair the car.
