On Tuesday i was heading into work. The roads werent plowed very well so i was doing 10 to 15 below the speed limit. (speed Limit was 50). I was turning onto the expressway off ramp when i hit a patch of snow/ice and started spining. I tried to gain control of the car, to no avail. I ended up hiting the front driver corner into the cement wall and continued to spin until the rear driver corner slammed into the wall. Here are some pictures of the aftermath in my garage. Luckily the car was still driveable.
In the thrid one you can see how the amp rack broke during the impact.
The worst part of it was that my kids were in the car, going to work with me that day and my daughter hit her head on the door and they took her to the hospital via ambulance. Thankfully she was just bruised and nothing major was wrong.
I keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse, the divider between the offramp and the expressway was only about another 150 to 200 feet away, and waht could have happened if i was going faster.
The car is now in the repairshop and i am waiting on the initial esimate. They said 2 to 3 weeks total, to get estimate done, get parts in and fix everything up, just lookign at it, probably 3-4k in damage.

Visibly damaged items are the trunk, licence plate area, both tail lights, front/rear fenders, driver exhaust tip is slightly bent. Also the front bumper and erar bumber faces.

Luckily your daughter is okay from her bump against the door.

Jeez, sorry to hear that man.
From the looks of it, all of those parts can be replaced yourself, save the exception of the rear fender.
I'd take the cash, procure the items myself, and treat yourself to either a RJ bumper or get the bumpers/lip yourself, and just have the shop fix the fender.
Get rid of the pinstripe while you're at it.

Glad yall are OK.
Remember, you aren't driving an '84 Escort, so fix it correctly and don't try and make $$$ on something like this.
I'm sure you were heading this way anyway, but when somebody mentions doing something ill-advised, a counterpoint can't hurt......
