Acura vs Honda vs Nissan

ok guys here is it.....a modded TLS with all the goodies like i have listed below against a modded 03 accord 6 speed....who would have the race

now say both modded TLS and Honda 6speed against the 6mt G35 who would win

I have a bunch of guys ( who really acts like kids ) thinking that there 6mt accord will beat the TL the G35.....they say after 80 the honda will win in top end.

i know that before my TL got modded it had ok power in top end...after all my mods top end was crazy. and Nissan alwaysssssss have that strong top end....

It depends on how heavily modified the Accord is.

I would say G35 6MT > 2G TL-S > Accord from the sounds of it.

What year accord is it? With what type of mods?

Your TL is an auto therefore some power is loss in the drivetrain.
Accord doesn't have that much drivetrain loss.

Your car has 3.2, The Accord has 3.0 (depending on the year/model)

Doesn't make much of a difference but you have more displacement than him.

Both cars (yours and his) shouldn't be too far off though.

G35 will get off the line faster due to RWD and it has a 3.5L Engine.

Not sure about top end I'll ask my Nissan buddies.

If he's a crappy driver, you should be able to beat him regardless of power and mods.

There's a vid on YouTube of my friend's stock 03 auto G35 beating a modded 6-speed G35, then the same vid shows me beating him. I shouldn't have been able to but hey, with a shitty driver and/or launch, anything can happen.

~Cheers~

a lot of people at other forums can get 14.2s with stock V6 6MT accords, and you are talking about a modded one, it's not surprising if it can run in the 13's. But then it also depends a lot on the launch, and thus the driver's skills. With your mods, you are looking at low to mid 14's if you can get the launch right (not sure how heavy your wheels are though..)

I think it will be a pretty damn close race. In most situations all these cars are 14 seconds cars.

You could always race them and find out... I think there's more hypothetical racing going on in here than actual racing.

If the 6MT guys can drive then I say the Accord comes out with the win followed by the G and then the TL-S. With the mods that the Accord has the car should easily be in the high 13's. The G 6MT is a low 14 second car stock and the TL-S with the mods should be low-mid 14's. I smell a great race! Hopefully the 6MT guys can't drive for your sake and you come out with the win!

yea get a pulley and if u shift on point u will be able to come out on top...it took me a couple of runs to run 13s in my TLS wit I/H/S/P...but i did it...thos 7th gen accords are light as hell so they move...but again if u get the crank pulley and shift on point and get great tarction u will come out on top...

i have beaten a 05 g35 6mt 4 times in a roll (on the street), g35 had a cold air intake, i had a drop in k&n air filter and removed resonator.

Cold-airs make the G's lose power.

hmm...it seems like a lot of mods make the G's lose power, what are the usual mods for them then, if going the NA route?

That power duct thing where you put the hole in the front bumper for the intake; the plenum spacer adds quite a bit, too.

Is there more? Cause I heard from other members that the VQ has much more potential in terms of NA modding compared to J series.
