Acura Total Luxury Care - Roadside Assistance

I recently bought a 2007 TL Type-S and just got my TLC card. From what I can gather from the material, it's AAA on steroids. How long does it last? It is just a year or so, or does it matter if you purchased an extended warranty? I just want to know if I need to cancel my AAA card.

/k

Lasts as long as the car's warranty. Not sure about extended warranty though.

Acura TL is standard for the facotry warrenty of the car. It can be had longer if you purchase the option of it when buying the extended warrenty. It sort of is like AAA on steriods, but i would keep the AAA for hotel and rental discounts if you ever need them. Also having AAA with TLC will help incase acura cannot get out to you.

Is this something special for '07's? The CPO '05 I just got seems to have pretty weak roadside assistance. Only 25 miles for towing, for example. I can see being on the NJ Turnpike somewhere and not being within 25 miles of an Acura dealer.

Careful

I found out the hard way....Keep AAA card.. Got rear ended in my RX-8 and called the Mazda roadside assistance and they told me that the towing feature was only for mechanical breakdowns... I told them that I was on the freeway and my car was undriveable and they said sorry. You might want to check that the roadside assistance covers these situations....sucks when you're stuck on the freeway and have to wait for the other person's tow truck driver to dispatch another truck when he finally get there...

Rear ended, why would you call roadside assistance for something your insurance covers? Makes sense from Mazda and Acuras point of view, they are there if you are screwed because of their cars reliability, not for accidents..

i think the type of roadside assistance you get from mazda would differ from that with which you would get from acura regardless of the situation. acura is luxury or a near luxury brand.

i would also like to know that. TLC covers towing to the nearest acura dealer, there isn't a pereset miglage, but there is a limit, if it is more than 60-75 (not sure of exact figure), they will tow it to the nearest Honda Dealer.

Have you dealt with any level of Acura service?
