Is an Acura TL Type S with over 300K worth buying?
 

Hey guys new to the community here I'm looking to finally buy a car been enough time on public transit. I'm looking specifically for a Acura TL from 2007- 2008 quick intro over.

Is an Acura TL type S over 300k even worth a look everything I've read seems to depend on the owner. It's just the one owner nothing but highway so they say asking for 5500 that price seems kinda high. I haven't test driven the car yet since I wasn't expecting this snowstorm outta no where.

I would say I'd have no problem considering a Type-S of that vintage with that many miles on it; if, and ONLY IF, the price was reasonable. I rather doubt I could be coaxed to part with much more than $2,000-$2,500, even if the car was in pristine condition with all service records; maybe $3,000 if the car had just had it's 315,000 mile Timing Belt Service performed.

Does it come with diamonds in the glove compartment? Offer half that and see what they say.

The Type S of the 07-08 vintage are very good cars - I have one. There aren't as many as the base TL, but unless your budget and desire for this specific car have you painted into a corner, I would move on. There are Type S's and likely plenty with a lot less than 300K on the odometer. You just need to continue to look. I'm not currently looking to sell, but mine is an even rarer 6 speed manual and I only have 105K on it.

I can tell you from personal experience at that mileage, you’re better off getting a base 6m 300k and rebuild it better than the type-S. Insert- your own mounts, your owns plans and just ride it till the wheels fall off.

either that or get that type s for $3500 tops if it’s pristine. And invest a 2-3 gs in the long run.

Either way way you’ll have a 13-14 sec reliable car all day for 7 grand

I have a 2004 TL MT with almost 300k on it and I love it. But love has its price. In the past couple of yrs I spent approx $5k trying to keep it as original as possible. That includes clutch, shocks, engine mounts, ps pump, head gasket, upholstery (front seats), roof liner. If your not an enthusiasts like me it's not worth your time.

I've owned both a base 6MT and the Type S 6MT.
The Type S is just better, no amount of modding will get you there or have you feeling satisfied.
