Acura TL Type S 2007 176k miles Should I buy at 6.8k???
I have a budget of 5k but I really like how this Acura TL Type S looks and I can prolly ask my dad for 1.8k and pay him later, the other option I have is an acura tl 2006 at $4000.
04-06 A/T TL's have tranny issues. I've known 4 people locally to me that have had to have theirs replaced. 07-08 they fixed the issue. I would go Type-S over base too...
I can't see the pics at work, so I can't tell which one is cleaner.
How many miles is on the base?
What kind of maintenance was done for 2k?
Any service records/ receipts for either?

176k on the Type S, he hasnt responded to what issues he fixed,
99k miles on the base model
4k for the base 2006
6.8k for the Type S
I can prolly get a 2007 base for 4.5k or so if I keep looking but I do really like how the Type S looks , it is a 2.6k increase in price tho, tryin to justify it.
Site blocks facebook links sorry, heres the one im talking about
2008 100k miles at 5200, should I ask for a lower price? its on Fb markets, but I suspect its a dealer because he mentions that the price includes plates and title name chjange
Honestly I would be a little scare buying car around Houston area from small car lot and owner, some of them might be FOB because recent Harvey visit the city.
Texas title come in blue color but that does not mean anything and here is why.
Texas issue title in blue however rebuilt title can also come in blue,
Branded, bond, salvage etc.... title come in pink however once the repair is completed and pass road worthiness the state will take the pink title and issue new title with blue color however they will have "rebuilt" written on it. If the seller want to be clear he/she should listed "clear blue" title.
Assuming he has paperwork and shiet, should I jump on it or nah. If he doesnt should I offer lower, say 6k at which point hes prolly just gonna say no and ill just walk away? First time buying a car but im taking my friend who knows a lil more about cars hes gonna check if the tranny skips or makes sounds or something..
So why is he selling? How is it "a 1 owner" yet he did the 105k service when he "got it". When did he "get" the car?
I'd say proceed with caution on this one; definitely bring someone with solid car background that can assess this thing not just worry about tranny. Too many clues that dont tie well together. The biggest concern is he noted Blue Title in ad.
I have heard that in the majority of states, a Blue Title is a salvage vehicle title. It means the car has been in a major accident, fire or flood. I never owned one so cant confirm this is the case in VA or any where else.
Good luck, I feel there is a back story here bro, and not sure how legit he is!
Me: how many miles did it have when you got it? Also, can I run a carfax? id need the vin number I think. Also do you have receipt or records of those maintenance (the 105k and the other ones u mentioned? sorry to bombard with questions lol

lets see what he responds.
Thanks all for the help, really appretiate it.
I might go take a look at it this weekend.
I would regardless of what he says if its not too far away. The more seat time you can get in these things the better off you will be so you can spot a terd when you see it. To me the search for the right car was the most fun.
I just dont see how he can claim its a 1 owner in the ad then tell you he's the second owner.
If I was in the market today and trying to decide between a base and an S, I would definitely pay extra for the S- all things else being relatively the same- maintenance, clean title history, condition, etc.
Wow, thats awesome , I would appreciate it very much!
hes about to send me the VIN and I'll run a carfax, I think by friday I will have the money ready in case I want to buy it, I'll ask him when hes available and I'll let you know I'll PM you my cell, thanks man.
170k on the clock for 6.5k is way too much. i'd just save a little more and get something under 100k preferably. at 170k you're not too far away from the next timing belt and a 200k mileage car is going to have some issues down the road--granted some ppl on here have 250k+
my TL has about 200k, right now im staring at water pump, timing belt, intake manifold gasket, oil pump/rear main seal. --about $2k+ and im looking at a new car instead LOL.
