Acura TL-P vs Mustang GT =[

Friday night driving home from a football game I spotted my friend on the road and decididng to pull of next to him. We talked about racing and hes like lets take the corner on green and go on 3 honks at about 25 mph. We both had one passenger. We took off and my intake roared as the v tech kicked in. As he shifted from 2nd to 3rd he got about a car length in front of me =[. We stopped at about 80 as he clearly won. He has a 1998 mustang Gt with a MAC exaust. I only have the AEM short ram intake.

I pulled two cars on a 97-98 before my TL was modded, and I have a 99 TL-p.

Nice race. Thats not bad for a TL-P. He has 225HP and 295TQ. Im sure he was a 5spd right? You should have beat up a 4AT.

That's interesting, as a 94 GT with 215hp would do 15.1 in the 1/4 mile. I'd imagine the 98 GT with 10 extra hp to do at least as good.

Hmm, not to sure. All tracks are different and the one that is the closest to my house isnt the best prep'd. Hers was also a convertable so I sure the added weight didnt help.

The 98 GT has less torque due to its 4.6L displacement. The 94 GT had the 5.0L. It has about 20 more torque than the 4.6L.

hmm, but the extra 10hp means the high end torque is better on the newer model, and 290lb/ft of torque in the 1998 model isnt bad at all. But I guess the track condition and the extra weight of the convertible are 2 of the reasons why it's not as fast.
