Acura TL Lip Spoiler

Just bought a OEM TL lip spoiler off of ebay... Won it for $26.00 .. I see that it requires drilling anyone here just 3M tape it down? I rather not drill into the car if I dont have too.

Thanks guys

Yeah i wasn't too sure which spoiler he was talkin about either, but the first thought that came to mind was the decklid one, because I dont think you can get any underbody spoiler for that cheap.

Glad to hear the SSM one matches the paint, because that is what I'll be getting.

Oh and to answer the original question of this thread, I think 3M tape is pretty strong. It will hold it, but I wouldn't recommend it, but if it does fall off, you will only be losing $26, so I say go for it!

if it's a decklid spoiler it should be fine...but if your talking about roof spoiler...nope, tried that and didn't work...probably held on for a month or so...but i bought it on ebay so maybe it's just poor quality...cheap shit!!!

O.P., a few here have tried the 3M tape method. I believe the general outcome was, it didn't last.

About page 8 is when people who used tape started re-doing theirs. the corners come up first. good luck

Ya heres the link for the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...241337368&rd=1

The spoiler has 2 bolts in it already i would have to grind them off in order for it so sit flush on the car. I am think just having Acura install it.

Go to HOME DEPOT and get 3m doubled sided tape. The Heavy Duty one with the red plastic on it. it worked great on me

I just put my ebay OEM spoiler ($45.99 shipped) on the other day. The install didnt take too long. The motor was burned out on my electric drill and the battery was dead on my other drill so I used a hand drill lol. The install looks flawless.

yea, mine came with the 3m tape with the red covering the tape. i put it on as a roof spoiler though it should hold, it feels VERY solid. and i know of other people who have theirs on with 3m and havent had any problems.

Thanks for the info. I think i will try the 3m tape method for now. Just to make sure that i do like the spoiler. If i have issues i can always have it drilled in.

3m tape will work fine, just make sure you clean the surface properly before you stick the spoiler down. Any local hardware store should have it. To my knowledge they also have a heavy duty 3m tape you could use also.
