Acura TL Cracked Dashboards In the News - Please Read & Respond

My 2 cents for 303 protectant. ANY protectant with silicon or petroleum (distilate) properties will damage most types of rubber, vinyl or plastic over time, especially tires. 303 is the only product I have found that does not contain any of the damaging properties.

My 06 TL has an ever-worsening cracked dash. It started with a small crack on the passenger side that grew into a very large crack. There is a now a second crack near it which is right along the left side of the airbag. I bought the car at Fountain Acura and plan to bring it back there. I am still a newbie here, but I would appreciate it if you could message me. Thanks.

I have a 08 TLS, been doing research throughout the forum. It seems like is mostly the vehicle from TX, FL, GA, SC, and SOCAL have the crack dash issue. Im in VA and also starting to see the airbag lines. Did more research, found out this is common on all auto makers. Subaru, Mazda, Toyota,Nissan, pretty much any vehicle that doesn't have the old fashion airbag. My wife has a Altima 2011 and I can now see the airbag lines. Seems to me like 05 and 06 have the most issues with the cracked dash. Now it will just be a waiting game for most 06 through 08 being that most start to crack between 5 to 7 years.

Put me on the cracking list...04 TL always garaged and sun shades used when outside. At about the 8 year mark a small crack started by passenger air bag, now I have 7 cracks that go from front edge of dash all the way to the windshield. Even with 190,000 the outside looks brand new..wish I could say the same about the interior.

I solved my cracked dash issue myself; wasnt a cheap fix though. ..
I just got another 3g. .. lol. ..
ButI did notice my other car seemed to crack when I was parked in the shade or in a parking garage not when the Sun was directly beating on it...almost like Honda reverse engineered it wrong?...

Add me to the list. Mine started cracking 2 weeks ago, in the fall, November not in the 100 degree summer days. Sometimes when cruising on the highway I can hear the cracks cracking away, painful sound.

The dashboard on my 2007 Lexus ES 350 is so sticky and melting. I contacted the corporate office and they referred me to Lexus of Pembroke Pines service department to take a picture of the dash and they would forward the photos to them. After they received the photo, I was told that they had to look at my maintenance history with Lexus to decide what they would do to resolve my problem since my car was out of warranty. I stopped having my car maintenance done at Lexus last year because of the issues I always would run in to with the service department at the North Miami Beach dealership. They always wanted to push off extra things that I didn't come there for. And when I would refuse they would have an attitude. So I decided, why spend your money at a business where there is bad customer service skills.
I faithfully had my car serviced the entire time that I had my car. When I asked to speak with someone else at the Corporate office they decided that they will pay for the labor and I can pay for the parts. I feel that when you buy a Lexus, you should never have to worry about a issue like a melting sticky dashboard. I have purchased Hondas, Mercedes Benz, and Jaguar and never had an issue like this. I will be in the market again for a new car and I will not take a change and buy another Lexus and have to worry that the same thing will happen.

EDIT: I found these two comments below it. Apparently Lexus owners have it worse than we do.
I have a 2005 Lexus RX330 and the dashboard started cracking and is now falling out. Lexus denied my request to fix it. Any suggestion?
LEXUS RX 330 Cracked dashboard - I requested help from the dealership to have the dashboard fixed and they declined. This is a fairly new car and expensive one! I found out a lot of Lexus owners are having the same kind of problems and we should all get together and request Lexus to issue a recall and fix it!

Mine cracked on me last year in March. Just got a quote from Rick Case Acura in Ft. Lauderdale and its $397+tax. Will be getting it fixed till they have a recall and hopefully I can get a refund. Untill then planning on taking care with this 303 product. Can anyone please share a link where to buy and picture of what the product looks like since its not available everywhere?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Oh man, my dash looks just like yours, allaces! Probably started developing in late 2013, at about 96,000 miles. She's a 2005 that I purchased in January 2009 with 51,000 miles... Now just shy of 100,000 (99,300).
Texas car, second owner, never cleaned the dash with any products other than water and a cloth. No product will prevent this from happening; mine developed and spread during the huge temp changes in November here - 70 one day, and 28 and freezing rain/ice the next, combined with using the heater, no doubt.
I've learned to live with it now, but it pains me to look at it once in a while...

Hi I just joined this forum and this is my very first post. I have a 2006 Acura TL with 72k on the clock. Last year around August a crack formed right above the passenger airbag. It started small then grew from the windshield all the way to the edge towards the passenger seat. Now yesterday I got in the car and there's no another crack about 8'' over towards the center console about 6'' long. This is driving me crazy on how this could happen on this dash. I was wondering I got the car from car max about 3 years ago and I have the 100k warranty but i'm not sure if they cover it probably just mechanical. Do I contact an Acura Dealer for the dash problem? I'm in Miami there are a couple Acura dealers here just trying to figure out what to do cause I don't want this to get worse.

I just came back from the Acura Dealership here in Miami in Doral and an Advisor over there told me $1800 to replace the dash. She said she can put in a good will to replace the dash depending on what they want to offer based on me being a loyal customer.. i've only had the car 3 years and i've NEVER been to an Acura dealership. Got the car at Carmax, and even Carmax under their extended warranty doesn't cover it either. The service Advisor from Acura put in the Good will request and she said she'll call me back within a couple days so we'll see.

My dash cracked last year (I used to live in Ft Lauderdale until November 2013) and I went the same route - dealer in Pembroke Pines, Jordan Ferber was my tech rep - would've cost me $900 because he negotiated 50% good will, but it was still too expensive for me when I feel Acura should replace it for free!

I gust got a call from Fountain Acura in Orlando saying they were notified by Acura corp regarding my dash issues and they are willing to help. I have to answer a few questions and then go from there. I will update later on any results. This may soon become a recall, like the g35's.
