Acura TL 2004 AUTO-TIE ROD END
My car has 42,000+ miles on it and I was experiencing a poping sound each time when I accerlarated from 0mph, going over a bump, and stand still in idle while in Drive. The first time I noticed this noise is when I have 30,000+ miles but the dealership in the Fouyntain Auto Mall said that it was papers and cd cases i had in my arm rest and in the doors. The tech had moves something around in my car around and the noise had vanished. I was puzzled and said to myself thats impossiblke because it doesn't sound like plastic or paper moving around. My serv adv told me when i get home take everything out of the car including papers, cd cases, coins, pens and listen out if the noise had went away.
I did what he said the noise got louder, lol. I called him the next week to set up an appt to bring my car back in. When I get there I had the tech sit in the car with me so i can demonstrate this to him. Guess what, the noise went away. So I told him that the car has to sit for at least an hr or so then the noise will start again. He was interested in knowing what this could be, because he said he never had a car brought in with this kind of problem before. I had to bring my car in a week later and had them give me a loaner. 4 hours had passed, my serv adv called me and he saaid the techs had located the problem. Its the "Tie Rod End" that needs to be replaced its worned out.
Has anyone hear had the same problem or is having the same problem with their car? If you are it can be solved
