Acura Hybrid?

I see where the Honda Accord V-6 will be avaiable as a hybrid in the near future.

Any information/rumor/discussion on a hybrid Acura TL?

I'm hoping they have a Hybrid TL or MDX in the next couple of years. There was a rumor that the RL would have one but it was just that, a rumor.

yup the next accord is suppose to be a hybrid 240HP V6. should be a great sell especially with the rising cost in gas. the new RL definitely is a hydrid 300hp V6, i believe its a 3.5l motor similar to the one used in the NSX. the accord might have ivtec as well but it will be a 3.0l motor instead of the 3.2 that the TL has. i doubt there will be any inclusion of a hybrid or awd feature in the 3rd gen TL because it will cut into cost. unless TL sales go way down due to the introduction of the hybrid accord or RL acura will probably not make major redeigns on the TL.

I suspect that if the Accord V6 Hybrid is successful for '05, we'll see a TL Hybrid for '06.

No, it's not. While it is 3.5l, it's either a J-series like the Accord, TL, MDX, etc or a brand new engine. It isn't a hybrid, either. 300 N/A horsepower. At least that's how it is on the Concept RL.

Plus, I suspect the Accord Hybrid will probably have 240 hp from the engine and an addition 50 or so hp from the electric motor, making it ~290 hp. Of course, that 290 hp won't available all the time, since the engine will use piston shut-off technology in addition to the IMA technology. But it is going to be quite a car, if the total of the engine and motor is 200+.

ok i stand corrected on the NSX motor. but can't really say its 290hp, the electric and the gas never work together when one is on the other is off. if you dyno the car it will not show up as a 290hp car but a 240hp car.
