Acura Front Bumper Decal and Clear Bra

For those who have the Veneerz.com Acura front bumper decal, what do ya'll think? How long have you had it? I'm concerned it will peel off after car washes.

Also, anybody have the decal and then put a clear bra over it? What are your experiences with the decal and clear bra?

I don't have those decals but my clear bra does not go inside the lettering. It was put on around the letters but not inside.

I actually purchased the Veneerz lettering for the front of my TL-S and was pretty unimpressed with the quality of the letters...they looked really cheap. On top of that, the "C" and the "U" in ACURA were not even close to a correct fit. I complained to Veneerz customer service. About 2 weeks later, I received a new set of letters that were even worse than the first set. The overall letters were not the right thickness and were too narrow for the indentations in the front bumper. Veneerz customer service kept insisting that my car must have an aftermarket front bumper (it is just a stock TL-S). After a lot of complaining on the phone, they finally credited me for the purchase.

Here is a pictures of the problem lettering. The letters in the photo below the bumper lettering were the first set I received. The letters above the bumper lettering were the replacement set. I only have a picture of the letters "C" and "U" because the others fit fine. Ignore the adhesive behind the tops of the letters...I didn't stick them on properly because this was just staged for a picture to send to Veneerz.

FYI, all the TL front bumpers are new for '07 (TL Base and TLS).

I suspect those letters will fit 04-06 bumpers just fine, but it appears the ACURA letters are a different size on the '07 bumper (at least they are on the TLS as your picture shows).
Want to verify that? Park next to an earlier year and just measure the lettering on both to compare.

Whoa...thanks for the warning guys. Yeah, the C and U aren't even close to fitting. I was about to shell out the $21 for the Veneerz. But I guess I'll wait until they design new letters to fit 2007 models, as I also have a stock 2007 TL-S.

Well, I just bought the Domed Decal's on fleabay and called out in the PayPal notes that I had an '07 Type-S. Then when I saw this sent them a very specific e-mail for them to make sure they know I've got the Type-S. Gave them an out if they want to back out.

I'll let you know how it goes.

That link you attached actually says it will fit in the indentions of a 04/06 TL. If the letters actually changed for 07, you might have the same issue I had.

Speaking from experience the clear bra will not go into that area on the bumper. If someone tried to put it down there it would peel up, bubble and not look smooth unless. they cut the Acura logo out for it alone. You should be just just fine

Yeah, I know. If you look at the Listing it is '04 - '07. Description is '04 - '06.

Thats why I specified my car type. I got a reply e-mail today. Basically, "We've sold lots of '07 with no problems." So, I've got to trust they know they're own product.

If not, I've got a lot of back up to make a case for refund.

I ordered mine for my 06 tl from verneerz and i was very satisfied with the fitment all the letters fit perfectly. Ive only had mine on for a few weeks now they seem to be holding up pretty good. When i installed them i made sure to clean the surface well with isopropyl alcohol, hope that will make them stick a little better and last longer! Here is a pic of them...

Is it just me or are you not trying to use the "U" as the "C" and the "C" as the "U"?
Just rotate them 90 degrees...I think they will fit fine...keep in mind all we have to look at is the pic.
Is it just me???

That's a good point, but my guess is that the letters came pre-stuck in sequence, so that such a mistake couldn't be made. Ya know? Definitely good looking out...and it would be very interesting to see whether this is what the problem is, to say nothing of completely shocking.

That would be hilarious if they were just the wrong letters. I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he tried to switch the C and U, but if not, his face will be the color of his car.

I wish I wasn't in NY and my license plate didn't have to block that awesome logo. I am sure there are mods to move the plate somewhere else, but noting easy enough for me to do.

Well, carguyrob....we are all waiting to know if you accidentally transposed the "U" and "C"! Let us know soon! Because if you did and discover that the fit is good, I'll be ready to order them from Veenerz for my 07 TL-S.

As it turns out, you guys are correct...sort of. The first set (one in the bottom of the picture) is actually a better fit than the second ones. The second set isn't a very good fit at all.

I am actually not going to turn red over this one because they actually do come pre-stuck on a card in order...apparently just the wrong order...both times.

Order away. And be prepared to switch the letters around as necessary.

AWESOME catch Steeve!!! Really, we should ALL feel a little red-faced for not seeing that.

Glad to hear it fits. Also NOT glad. I've been on the fence about these things...do it or don't do it...I was almost releived to hear the letters wouldn't fit my bumper. NOW I'm stradding the rail again.

Carguyrob...can you shoot a few shots of the letters mounted? Would love to see what they look like on MRP.

Funny. I got the Domed Decal set off of Ebay today. I noticed the same thing - the "C" and "U" look very similar and you've got to get the right one in the right place.

The Ebay decals fit fine on an '07 TL-S.

I've got a Silver Type-S. Anybody have pictures of the Ebay Domed Decal "Bright Silver" or "Brushed Aluminum" colors? I want the color that most closely matches the chrome on the grill.

Bearcat94: Your picture doesn't show up btw.

I am sure there was a thread with pics specifically of the Brushed or Bright on a black TL here somewhere. I can't find that thread, but thought it was this car.

I can't help you out with that. I am really not all that impressed with the quality of the letters up close. Maybe they look better from a distance. I haven't attached them to my car. I am really thinking I am going to pass on the whole lettering thing.

They are domed and semi-rigid. They sort of look like puffy stickers. That is part of the reason that I don't think they look high quality up close.
