Acura Experience, Need Explanation.
I've owned an Acura Legend, RL, and this is my third TL Model. This is the only car I've driven that when I'm driving at 40-50 Miles per hour and 1500RPMs I get this growl sound. Is this characteristic of this car? Also, when this car was new I would press down on the accelerator on the car would respond immediately. Now it seems like when I press down the car has little response but builds up this tremendous torque and then takes off. Can someone explain this items to me.

It happens to me this sensation that the car didn't take off as it used to do. SLowly untill 4000 rpm and after this rpm it was normal.
This day i drove an all day in town, amways stop and go so my two hypotheses are :
Overheating of transmission or engine make the car have less performance
or
Automatic transmisssion is "auto adaptiv" it's set the gear or whatever to match the way the driver drives. I don't know if ti's related to the ECU.
May be someone more mechanical can explain that ,
The day after everything was ok.
I had the same feeling with my 2003 Accord AT coupe 4 cyl also sometimes.
May be we get used to acceleration and the feeling is normal so that's mean we need to upgrade for a more performing car !

For the noise i think it's an honda thing every honda i drove used to do that. I agree it's a bit strange for this category of car. I think the vtec technology makes this noise at low rpm.

It's so-called characteristic from Acura 3G TL. (not all cars have this...) If this specific droning sound is only thing you could hear and feel, you're the lucky owner. Some TLs have different level of vibration in addition to that sound.
