Forgot that the A-spec coilovers are probably included on that car as well .... I'm guessing that's less than $900 depending where you get it from ...

Pure Adrenaline-
Your probably right. That owner will come here and think he's the $hit with that car, etc. etc. I will die laughin' when we find out who bought that car ... assumin' they'll be able to move it off the showroom floor within the next century.

God I'm Bored As Well --- but getting paid to be bored while at work!

Someone with a lot of money who probably doesnt give a shit will buy it. I can see how its easier to have all your mods done when you buy the car. If you arent a car person this might appeal to you. I bet it goes for just under 49k w/o taxes, etc.

The new car manager must be smoking something if he thinks that car is going to sell. He should have at least done these mods to a MT. For 53K, I'm getting an M3. I wonder how long he lasts at that dealership?

i forgot about that one.

For some reason I really think someone with a ton of money (and maybe a ton of cars) buying this simply because of the dealer package. Anyone who has been doing their research knows the dealer price is a little high, but some people just buy what they see and like without a second thought. Foolish, yes, but there are quite a few stupid people with money out there.

Crazy price for sure, but looks great.

I wonder if the dealer is offering any special warranty coverage for all of the aftermarket items?

OK... Here is my question. I know those Momos are 2 piece wheels but I called Niello Acura just to be sure. The dealer confirmed that the wheels are 2 piece. I then asked if the TPMS senors were installed and working. They said yes and that they had no problems.

Every wheel manufacturer that I have called has told me that the TPMS sesor will not work on 2 or 3 piece wheels. My 2 piece wheels are sitting in my garage waiting to be put on. Now I want to get sensors and see if they will work. Has anyone else installed the sensors on a multi piece wheel?

i got my 04 for about 38000 w/navi and everything....and my friend just got an 06 RL for 41K before tax. when, skill, who, where....make a big difference.

let's see 38k (aspec dealer installed) + 4000 SC + 1000 CB + 100 swaybar + ~$500 for trim and wheels = ~44K + some labor = ~45K. i'd buy a 1~2yr old M3 with some snow tires for winter and hope for no electrical problems...ha.

yeah I think thats pretty much the way it would go down. I just cant believe they are charging that much. Buying it as is takes all the fun out of it...

You are talking about a second-hand M5 bought today right? Brand new in 2003 those babies ran for $70K.

To the OP, ask your dealer how he expects to break Newton's 4th Law:

Wow, that's the dealership where we recently bought our TL! I thought it looked familiar. I didn't see this car. Maybe they didn't have it a month ago. Not that I would buy this by any stretch, but it's definitely a looker and I'm sure it's fast as hell. Next time we're there I'll have to check this out.

Personally, I don't need a supercharger or extra tight suspension. The stock TL is pretty plenty fast and nimble as it is, enough for me anyway. I would consider the wheels though (for a MUCH lower price).

I agree on the pricing. The thing that most of you haven't thought of is that altough we can buy these parts and have all these mods done cheaper, if one was to buy this car at a dealer, THE WHOLE THING CAN BE FINANCED! The dealer may even warranty the add on's.
Most people want these things done to their cars but can't drop $4000 plus install on a supercharger. They can if you finance it over 4+ years.
There is an ass for every seat.

^-good point about the financing .

I'm really interested in seeing what this goes for. I talked with a few sales people at Neillo when I was still looking for a deal on an 04-they seemed motivated to sell and were willing to work with the customer (me). Their inventory sucked at the time thats why I didnt buy there. This is their high point, they will come down, but will still make a killing.

Twigglius...
What seems to be the determining factor is the valve stem and it's orientation to the rim. You'd be best served chocking up the $35 for (1) sensor and test fitting it to the rim.

I can tell you, when I had my TPMS sensors installed in my (2005) A-Spec rims, which many said was not a good idea, it went in flawlessly. You have to add a few extra balance weights is all.

I also test fit the sensors on a few 2 piece rims that were hanging on the wall at Merchant's Tire, and saw no reason at all they wouldn't work.

The limiting factor is the the orientation of the valve stem hole. If, when the sensor is installed, the sensor does not sit flush with the rim, the tire cannot be installed over the sensor. When the tire mounting machine presses the tire over the rim , it would break the stem off the sensor because the sensor protrudes out.

I believe the discussion of the "cut out" on 2006 TL rims follows this assumption. The cut outs protect the sensors as the tire is slid over the rim.

I was also advised (by Merchants) that when I get new tires, to air down the tires completely, then unscrew the TPMS sensor from the front, and allow it to fall into the tire... This should prevent the tire from breaking the sensor when the bead breaker is applied to the rim and the tire is forced over the rim edge.

Long winded... Give it a try, there seems to be a lot of misinformation here regarding this, mostly based on people's perception of what seems to be a "good idea" vs. actually trying things out. I don't think there are very many wheels these sensors won't work in... but it seems most wheelvendors would rather NOT deal with pissed off customer, than do the homework and make a sale.

You guys are missing the point...

The reason why this car is so expensive is because of the label it carries.. "EXTREME".

Yep...

Problem is, then they add a $3K BBK, plus install, plus thier EXTREME markup, that car will be pushing $60K... and that's just absurd considering what kind of car you can get for that money.
So long TL, hello Porshe.

It did have the TPMS, It's on the inside back of the rims. Not a great pic , but look right in the middle.

I didn't get any pics of it ,but you can see it on e-bay if you search. It's something I want ,but it's a little expensive for a steering wheel. Plus the dealer wants $121 to install it( which I would pay ).

I guess that explains why Neillo thinks they can sell Acura's for Porshe prices. I'd also love to read the terms and conditions of your warranty...

It does show me the Comptech product is relatively mature, and that dealers aren't that afraid of it.

I know it is a picky-ass thing but I think the stock exhaust tips shape looks better. Please don't beat on me, just MHO ! Otherwise looks great. Of course you must test drive it and then decide it's too much.

Do ya think the dealer could have been stupid enough to build this with none or little cash from the buyer and then have the buyer back out of the deal ?

Yep... Not a fan of the mimatched shapes either... not to mention the VERY limited gains of the cat-back. I'm willing to compromise noise for serious gains, but not willing to change exhaust just to gain noise.

That thing needs ESP cats, the #2 horsepower maker on the market for the TL.
