Accord 6MT vs Boxster S 6MT

Yes, ladies and gentleman, I played with a Porsche Boxster S 6MT. First off, those cars sound absolutely beautiful. On my way home from NJ at about 1AM on Monday night, I see a hatchback accelerating quickly so I give it a little gas for fun and little did I know behind me in the next lane is the Boxster. I see him and immediately get the adrenaline going. I figured hey, why not? The S is making beautiful music with his engine, revving a little. I get behind him and at the light he hits it in 1st so I follow and get up to 3rd gear with him not noticeably pulling at all. The next light he starts off slowly and I hear him shift to 2nd and stay at a relatively high RPM like he was going to punch it. From about a 40 roll he and I both punch it staying neck and neck, I shift to 3rd and still side by side. He then misses 3rd, so I let off for a second and get back on it. At the top of 3rd he starts pulling slightly and I was concentrating on the road and where he was and I redlined 3rd OUCH so he started pulling hard. We then shut it down where I was at his door.

Needless to say I was shocked. I thought I would get smacked around by 3-4 cars but I stayed right with him. And yes he was racing, you can't mistake that engine noise. I thought they were much faster but looked and saw the mags get around 13.7 @102, so not so farfetched at all considering my 1/4 mile time in my sig (ugh 60').

I'm not sure which year it was. The older versions have 280hp and I think around 235 ft lbs and the newer 295hp and 251 ft lbs.

nice run! I had the chance to run a Boxster Non-S all the way through second gear and we were dead even until I stopped at 70MPH. I felt pretty good about my auto accord V6 holding its own against a 50,000 dollar boxster! I don't know what year the one was that I ran.

I can't believe you let off for a second to compensate for his missed shift. I would've capitalized on his screw up. You're way too nice.

Haha well I wanted to see how I would do straight up I didn't want an advantage! Normally I wouldn't let up but it was a Boxster S!
