I received a call from my dealer on Friday 8/27, and he informed me my ABP/Qtz/6sp/Navi/HPT is finallly on the way. He states it should arrive within two weeks but it may arrive sooner. The VIN# is 7146x. Needless to say I am so relieved it is on the way and cannnot wait to drive it. Most of you know I ordered this car on 4/21. I know Casper42 and Stoutman will be pleased seeing there TL's should be on the way also. Thanks to all of you of on this forum for your support. Now I will just go nuts waiting for the next couple of weeks.

My dealer also called me and told me that it was built on thursday and the shipping process began on friday. He told me that I would have my car in the begining of this week. I am in PA and they are built in Ohio, maybe that is the reason for the quick delivery. I hope my dealer is being truthful.

Well, I too can not wait to drive the car. So much anticipation has built after waiting this long; I am sure the other ABP people who are waiting can relate.

What this means is that the factory waited until they got enough orders for your particular combination before they made this batch.

7146x??? Hmm, I thought they were to produce "only" 65,000 this year. I guess not.

Your guess would be as good as mine! I've been told NBP, SSM, WDP, & Anthracite are the most popular colors. Honda builds in color batches and by transmission and/or Navi equipped cars. The demand is for the afore mentioned colors. Also, I understand only 10 to 15 percent of all TL's built this model year are 6 speeds. Also remember Honda had problems earlier with the demand for TL's equipped with the navigational unit. So add the fifth most popular color with a 6 speed and navi, it will equal a long wait. But that's only my humble opinion.


dcarlinf1, I also thought 65k units were to be built also. I guess there is great demand for Tl's.

Acura just called and said my car is on the lot. That is not too shabby. Car was built on thursday and is on the lot on monday. I am very excited. Pick it up tommorrow!

Got my VIN on my VoiceMail this morning. Its 2 off from 1blkowl.

strroutman: According to Yahoo Maps, Marysville, OH is only 500 miles or 8 hours from Philly, PA. So your car should have taken only a day or two from the Factory.

Hehe, for us out here on the West Coast, its saying 2300 miles and 35+ hours.

Well talked to my dealer this morning and was told that my car should be here around next Tuesday ( I ordered out of state). Then I got an email from them later on saying that it will be here 7-10 days from middle of next week. Hope it's not going to perpetually be pushed out like that, otherwise, before i know i'll be getting a 2008 TL

This is definitely the longest wait for a car of anyone I know. I think Acura is walking a thing line between building up mystique and turning away customers. I know I've felt that way a few times along the way.

So what do you guys think of getting your cars right as 2005s come out? I think it would really suck if they add some little feature that makes us jealous.

I took ownership of my ABP 6spd, HPT, Navi today -- let me tell ya. Though I hated the wait, it was worth it. I know you should baby your car for the first 1000 miles or so, but I could not resist getting on it a little.

Did nothing crazy with the RPMs, but got the car up to 115 with ease in 5th, and the road had these long bends and the car just hugged these bends. It is by far one of the nicest rides I have sat in.

Good luck and can't wait to the rest of you get your TLs.

Well I got my VIN too and it is also 7146x. I wonder if I have 1blkowl beat. I did order mine out of state so it will take a little longer to arrive. I wonder what the latest VIN for this MY is. Any ideas?
