Besides the bargain, try to add free bonus updates like a Lojack ($500) or splash guards ($175) or all season mats ($175) This will be a very good deal. You might want to try consumer reports online and purchase the inside details for the TL. This involves all payments a dealer makes etc. and includes the bottomline price. This report will cost you less than $50 but is worth the savings.

Are you getting anywhere with Gary Force? That is where I ended up buying (through the internet sales manager), but it was a tough process. I had to play them against the Atlanta dealers in order to get a decent deal when I bought my '04.

Are you embarrased that people older than your Dad drive the same car as you? If so, you are insecure.
I have zero desire for a 911 or anything else that cost that much and goes down in value and can't be appreciated fully, legally. There are other ways to have fun and I'm not trying to impress anyone with my transportation. Success is not measured by how much you pay for a car.
Learn some respect. The TL is a good value whatever your age.

Thanks for all the posts-I sold my 2004 TL to an offer could not pass on. I know changes are coming for 2009-what are the headlines on the changes? Will teh 2009 hit the market earlier than the fall of 2009? I guess it really does not matter I have to have a car. As far as being too old-I work out every day and can pass for my mid forties and bet I could kick your butt any day :-)

I just purchased a brand new 08 TL with NAVI last night for 31,600 + Tax. The only other thing I paid on top of that was $150 for doc/lic fees. Kind of high, but I was happy with paying 31,750 for a brand new 08 TL. If they did not take that offer I was going to wait for the 09s. But since it was such a good price I could not pass it up.
Here is the method to follow in order to arrive at this price.
To get this price I just took the invoice price, subtracted 1,100 for the holdback. Then I subtracted 2,000 for the marketing support. That brings you to 31,600. The dealer had no problem taking it.
FYI I had no trade-in and I financed through my own bank. This eliminated variables they could use against me
P.S. The dealer makes at least 3,100 on this sale. This is because of the holdback $1,100 paid to them by Acura. And also the $2,000 rebate the get after the sale, again paid to them by Acura.
Holdback for Acura is 3% of the base MSRP.
Good Luck!

I'm almost embarrassed to say I paid $35,500 for my 07 Type S last July.
I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm also in my 50's and still enjoy
a "drivers car". I'm not quite ready for a Crown Vic just yet...

My best advice is to just contact dealers via their websites with your best offer. Some dealers have tons of TLs on their lots and will take lower prices than others.
For example I just bought an 08 TL with NAVI for 31,600 + Tax. All I did was go to acura.com and searched for all of the dealerships in my state (Ohio). I staretd with the two closest. One dealer had about 50 08 TLs in inventory. The other had over 90! They both had the car I wanted. I sent them both an email saying I would the car at 31,600 + Tax. The one dealer emailed me back saying they could only do 32,800. The other said they would do 31,600. I went with the one for 31,600
If you know what car you want the best way to do it is via the internet manager. You dont have to waste any time. It is smooth and clean this way.
I hope this helps!

I just bought an Acura TL Type S on new years day. I paid $32, 500 for my silver Type S. It's an interesting story...had a terrible car accident 2 days before Christmas. They totaled my Chrysler Sebring convertible, so I needed another car. I found a dealership on Cars.com in Chicago that had a 2008 TL for $32,500. I took it to my local Acura dealership and said, "here's the price I want. Otherwise, I'm going to Chicago and driving this '08 TL home." They said they couldn't match the price, but they just got an '07 TL Type S with 700 miles on it. They said, "If we match the price of the Chicago dealership, would I buy the '07 Type S?" I jumped on it !! It's silver with the 2 tone seats. I added mud flaps, locking lug nuts and a trunk tray. Having a great time driving it.

$34,200 here, for an '08 Type S automatic. I literally walked in the dealership with a print out of prices paid from this site, said I did my research and wanted it for $34,200, and they didn't even bat an eye. Deal was done in 10 minutes.
