99 tl vs Z300

It was only a few days ago. I was minding my buz when I through a tunnel and I heard some thing really loud coming from my behind because of in the tunnel and my window was down,so I glance the back mirror I was'nt sure what car was but what I knew was it's sportcar and this guy want to showed off by rev the throttle so high, in front of us 2 lane no car no cop's,so my instinct telling me why not me have a go and test my car. I noticed he was trying to pass me Then I floored the gas I pull him a couple car lenght and I checked in the mirror again and my surprise was he just gave up for some reason. so, I slow myself down and when we stopped for red light I showed him a thumb up. I thought Let's see what he got by allow him to pass me that was a hell of moded Z300 with 2 mega pipe exhaust. I'm not sure how fast they are I honestly thought he going to pass me. that's fun when I saw his embarrassed face.

Probably not the twin turbo'd ones cause those things are crazy fast. Not sure how fast the regular ones are.

Do you mean 300ZX? The non-turbo'd ones are good for 222hp and 198lbft of torque, and they are 3300lbs. They also come with either 5MT or 4AT. If the one he was racing was the 4AT model, I can see why he won.

They aren't really "crazy" fast in stock form. Maybe for their day, but not by today's standards.

When I read the title I was like what the fuck is a Z300, then you guys cleared it up. The old Z is nothing to sleep on if they're modified, I doubt a stock Z is capable of better than mid 14s.

A stock 300ZX TT is a 13-second car and it has 300hp/283lbft pushing 3300lbs.

^^Maybe 13.9x in good weather/track conditions. I'm looking at Motor Trend's November,1990 "Top Ten" issue right now and it's in there at 5.6/14.1@101. I remember seeing several running at the strip in the mid 90's and they were all running low 14's as well; really no quicker than a TL-S stick.

(I remember the Supras were always markedly faster, stock to stock)

Hell yeah. We had some RX7 nutswingers try to argue that an RX7 would out-handle a Supra. We showed them a magazine test from 1994 proving that stock for stock, the bigger, heavier Supra kicked the RX7's ass in every test. Their response? "They're American, they can't drive Japanese cars."

Stupid kids.

Yes. Yes, they are. You guys should watch some of our videos. Search BAS Supra on YouTube, then look for any videos from Capacity4Action, LuvMySilverSupra, or ttinmysoup.

~Cheers~

supra's are crazy when modded haha, in that 2nd video, that guy must be going at like 170mph if that mustang was going at 160.... That RX7 kept up pretty well too and seems like he was about to start pulling on that mustang.

Here's one very evil Supra slithering down the strip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_83NuIEfAD4

And I love how on the highway, the V8's usually pull an immediate car length on the modded Supras and then proceed to get stuffed.

I'll always have a soft spot for Chevy small blocks......especially when they're cammed. Nice car to drop one into.

^ Yes, I understand. What YOU don't understand is that I was referring to your use of "Z300" to describe the 300ZX, aka Z32.

Quit trying to act like you know something if you can't even get a car designation right.

~Cheers~

P.S. Punctuation > you.

P.P.S. You can't pull the ESL card, either, as English isn't even my SECOND language.
