93k mile - giving car to relative - service advice

I'm giving my 05 TL auto with 93k miles to a relative.
I want to fix any issues it has before I give it to them. as I'd like them to have a mostly trouble free experience; and I'd like to uncover any potential problems before hand

What should I fix / replace?

This is on my list:
oil change
alignment (its due)
xenon headlights & fog lights (xenons are noticably dimmer int he past month; fog lights are out)
just bought new tires (old tires were worn out so good timing)

Should I bother getting the timing belt / water pump changed a tad early? I mean if a new one lasts 100k miles, it shouldn't hurt to change them a few miles early right? (assuming I'm not going to keep the car past 180k miles)

Also should I ask the dealer (or an independant) to do a thorough inspection of the car (like I would if I was buying a used car)? Do you guys think its worth it to do so even if I was keeping the car?

Anything else I've missed?

It won't hurt to do the timing belt early. It is not even too early if you go by the 7 years. Timing belt service is a nice gift on a free car.

I would not do anything if I was keeping the car, just keep up with the maintenance.

Other than that, stick with what makes you comfortable with the gift - it looks like you already have a nice list.

at 90K, you should be doing the following if you haven't already:

1. Oil Change
2. Cabin Air Filter Change
3. Engine Air Filter Change
4. Transmission Fluid Change
5. 3rd and 4th Gear Pressure Sensors
6. Tires (check and replace if necessary)
7. Alignment (check and adjust as necessary)
8. Lubricate all seals (303 or Shinetsu Grease)
9. Power Steering Fluid Flush
10. Brake Fluid Flush
11. Re-grease brake pins, check pad life, replace if necessary.

As far as Xenon lights go, you can replace them if you want, but don't go with some cheap Ebay bulb. Get some good ones like the Philips 81225+ or the OSRAM CBI bulbs. As far as fogs, check your fuses and if they are fine, get new bulbs. Any bulb of the same wattage should be fine.

As far as the timing belt, it's due at 105K, and every 60K thereafter. In all honesty, change it a little later. Use it as a "present" for them. That way and your relative save your money until it's needed.

I would have the dealer to a PPI when you take it for any servicing (most of the stuff in that list is REALLY easy to do like the filters). They should charge around 100 dollars and do an inspection such as the mounts, body panels, etc. It's good because it can uncover issues such as a broken coolant hose or cracked one, etc.

Actually, you still have another 17K to go before the timing belt is due. Our odometers are off by 5% and the TB won't be due until the ODO reads 110,250. If you're not familiar with this, read up on the Honda/Acura Odometer lawsuit settlement (04-06 TLs):
