Funny, but I had a 6MT Navi ordered from factory and only took 1 week to build, 1 week to ship. Look around your local area, there might be dealer w/ more pull than the one you went to.

They seem to be far more plentiful than they were last year. Good luck!

I pre-ordered my 6MT 2004 in August 2003 and didn't get it till Jan 2004. It was 3 months late from the original promise of Oct 16 2003. Acura likes to market the 6MT on TV & brochure but they don't make enough of them; sorta sneaky.

I ordered my Anthracite 6MT Navi (which only become available in Canada with the 2005 model year) on a Wednesday night at my dealership in Montreal. I picked up my car on Friday night. They even had it flat-bedded from Ottawa. I was AMAZED at the service. I told them that I was really impressed that they moved so quickly and prepped it so quickly. My salesrep told me "trust me, if it was an EL, you would be getting it next week".

FOLKS!!

Please DON'T SETTLE for 5AT if you're a 6MT fan! If anybody lives near NJ, I think Acura of Turnersville has two 6MT and Sussman Acura has 1 BLACK 6MT. Good luck

Acura makes the 6MT TLs in spurts, I believe they stop production sometime in december or so and then start up again sometime in spring. Infiniti does the same thing, this is why the 6MT G35c won't be available till January.

Yeah, 6mts are everywhere now. No reason to wait now. I actually flew to Florida for mine (from Richmond, VA) but that was only because I REALLY wanted a Black Camel. Besides, the dealership bought my plane ticket.

They still aren't everywhere here. It seems like in all of southern california, there is only a handful at best.

About 1 in 5 cars at my dealer have been manuals. When I bought, black, silver, and anthracite were the most common colors for manuals, though I have seen a blue and a red. If you want tan, white, or green 6MT's, they appear to be rare in New England.

Yeah, I told a local dealer that I was looking for a WDP and he told me that that is a very rare color for 6MT. They had a black in stock, and were getting a silver and i think anthracite by the end of november.

Forgive my ignorance guys, but do dealerships work the same in the states as they do in Canada? What I mean is, can one dealership buy a car from another dealership? That happens all the time in Canada, cuz there's no way one dealership will have every color/option combo for every car... I'm just trying to figure out why it takes so long to get cars for you guys.

Got lucky with my NBP/Ebony 6MT nonNAVI. Got it in two days. Dealer had one out back, but it was headed for the South Florida Intl Auto Show and could not be sold. They located another one and had it for me 2 days later.

I bought mine November last year...

I told the salesman:
"I want a six speed manual - not negotiable"
"I want a black interior - not negotiable"
"I don't want navi - negotiable only if you throw it in"
"I would prefer NBP but will settle for AM..."

He calls me the next day and says he's got one coming on the truck, it'll be at the dealership in three weeks...

NBP, 6MT, Black interior, non navi... (my perfect car....)

Best of luck with your endeavour...

Salut
Ciao

Good luck...

You should get the car you want and not what your dealer wants to sell. Check online inventories of local dealers and find a dealer who will trade. Some online dealers do not update their inventory frequently - Bridgewater Acura (NJ). In NJ I was fortunate with DCH Montclair Acura - love my 2004 WDP 6MT Quartz Nav. Was told this is a rare combo but they located it right away and got it within less than two weeks. Maybe timing was good as 2004 was winding down. Do not compromise. The 6MT is worth it!

Ok guys, now the real story... Plain and simple, 6sp manuals aren't very popular. Dealers don't order a ton of them. The story we give is, "They just don't make a lot of them" that actually is a true statement. They don't make 'em because we don't order them. Each dealership in your area has an allocation, you are limited to that number of TL's you can order. I you sell mostly automatics, what would you order? automatics ofcourse. You order the 6speeds when you have a deposit. It takes roughly about 3 months from when the order is placed to the factory, to when the vehicle gets shipped. So those of you that got the car sooner than that, you got a cancellation, or a randomly ordered car. Thats the real story. Any questions?

Have your dealer do a search. They found my NBP 100 miles away, and even went to go pick it up. I had it the next day. I originally wanted WDP/graphite but the only one in the country was in SoCal and I did not want to drive 2000 miles to bring it home. In the end I'm very happy with my color choice as itlooks fantastic with the A-spec kit installed.
