Hey I'm replacin my hids top and bottom on tl just wonderimg has anyone had issues with. 55 watt hids as far as housing meltin on 04 headlights or 07 fogs(I have 07 front bumper, but my reg 04 headlights) but I had a friend who used a high watt led in his headlight and he melted the housing so I jus want some inputs before I pull the trigger

If you want to use a 55w bulb, you need a 55w ballast. Check out theretrofitsource.com

Your headlights will be fine with the extra amount of heat, but I', not sure about your fogs.

@trunk monkey yeh the site I'm gettin from is the complete kit ballast and bulb, but thanks for the site ill check it out from home........

@nate thanks for the input ill take ur advice keep it safe 55w 6k headlights, 35w 3k fogs(love yellow fog look on a black car)......

ooo if anyone is actually runnin 55w headlights post pics id love to see how bright they are

I use 50w ballasts/bulbs on my TL and my other car with S2K retrofit with no problem

Our headlights are big enough to dissipate the extra heat from the 55W bulbs. (no melting the reflective coating inside the bowl)
Not sure about the fogs......
