At 5000 Miles and 1000 Posts...

...I can clearly say that the TL is the best car I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty.

I have no complaints and get nothing but compliments from all drivers (except Gen 2 TL owners) that see the car. No squeaks, no rattles, no issues. The navigation has been a lifesaver on many occassions, and the XM radio is pretty much all I listen to these days. With the Bluetooth phone right around the corner, the TL will be a car so good I'll hate to turn it in after the lease is up

Anyone else in the 5000/1000 club have positive observations?

BJ

I've had my car in the shop for 2 weeks. Should I ask for a extension on my free XM trail subscription.

I got a little over 2K miles. I love this car. I get a lot of compliments all the time and sometimes from 2nd gen owners.
I haven't listened to the FM/AM radio since I got my TL. All I listen to now is XM and DVD-A.
When your lease if up, you can get the RL.

Haha, yeah. I haven't listened to FM or AM at all, I don't believe even once... unless I was programming channels. I listen to DVD-A/iPod... and if I want something more varied I'll turn on XM.

I love the car too, rattles squeaks and all, took a client out for lunch today and the car rewarded me with a nice quiet ride. I knew it had it in her!

Do you ever wonder if the squeaks and rattles on the passenger side are there because there isn't a person leaning on the door, or a person using the seat belt in a taut position?

I do.

Yesterday, Stevens Creek Acura's service manager went out with me for a 15 minute spin in my TL so we could pinpoint the passenger side rattles/creaks, etc, could be resolved. No sounds whatsoever. As soon as he got out, I went by the same roads and I heard every rattle and creak that I wanted to show him.

Here I am trying to make this a love-in thread (even have Norsey being kind) and now it's going to morph from.....

.....I love my TL! Best car ever!

.....to......

.....you are a whore poster!

.....to......

.....my car rattles like a Kia!

.....to......

.....these tires flatspot and suck!

.....to......

.....if you don't have navigation, you're a loser!

.....to......

.....those puffy lumpers are ugly!

.....to......

.....the headliner is the devil!

.....to......

.....the TL is really just an Accord and the G35 is a unique platform!

.....to......

.....my dog died today and you better show me some sympathy!

.....to......

.....she's the one with the dark hair sitting on the couch!

.....to......

.....Boltjames, you've been suspended again because, clearly, your original intent was not to praise the TL but rather to be a rude distraction. Love, Astroboy, Soopa, and everyone except Z Factor.

Wow... Instead of having to nominate one of your posts for most controversial post on the forum, I can just nominate that one, which sums up all of your adventures :P.

Back on topic (sort of) why exactly do you want a MT when you can barely go 40 MPH on Jericho Turnpike? Unless you live in Vermont with oodles of windy roads and empty space, why burden yourself with all that shifting?

Because I don't go 40MPH on Jericho. And plus there are always the service road and empty roads. I just find myself in situations where manual would be more fun then in situations where I wouldn't want it.

Assuming the second CL 'sinks', what vehicle are you thinking of getting to replace it?
