4th Gen Steering Wheel Swap

Hey there guys, so I got this idea of swapping my steering wheel on my 08 base TL with a 4th gen SH-AWD steering wheel. Does anyone know if this is possible??

It probably won't be easy to get the controls working. I'm betting the clock spring is very different than on a 3G.

Hmm okay. Just a thought I had. My steering wheel is starting to look a little faded on the top and I really like the look of the 4G TL steering wheels. May be time for a decent looking steering wheel cover soon...

Redline goods steering wheel cover + padding, it'll make your wheel look brand new and feel better.
I think I paid less than 150.

If you have some spare time one of these days, you could always reupholster the steering wheel yourself.
has a pretty neat tutorial on how to do this.

yes I think the clock springs are different, so the plug from the steering wheel controls will not cross over. But you could buy a new clock spring. They have them on ebay. Actually, both models you can see on ebay and compare. But even with a new clock spring, the plug my work on the front, but you will still need to do a conversion on the back side of the clock spring. And to do that you need a pin out for both models. I have 1 but not the 2009+. And still again, you will need a new airbag. The airbag is what really makes it expensive.
